It is also necessary to be familiar with the mechanical properties of various workpiece materials. A good lathe worker can use a lathe and corresponding fixtures to not only process various rotating workpieces, but also informal rotating workpieces such as hexagonal nuts, square shaped parts, multi head ribbed lathes, and calculate the ratio of lathe hanging wheels. It can be said that a good lathe worker is half an engineer, and in terms of hands-on ability, he is even stronger than an engineer.
