Definition standard for protection level of electromagnetic flowmeter
Date: 2016-06-03Read: 42

Electromagnetic flowmeter is composed ofsensorIt consists of two parts: the converter and the transformer. It works based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and is used to measure the volumetric flow rate of conductive liquids with a conductivity greater than 5 μ S/cm. It is an inductive instrument for measuring the volumetric flow rate of conductive media. In addition to measuring the volumetric flow rate of general conductive liquids, it can also be used to measure the volumetric flow rate of strong corrosive liquids such as strong acids and alkalis, as well as homogeneous liquid-solid two-phase suspensions such as mud, slurry, and pulp. Electromagnetic flow meters are widely used for flow measurement in industrial sectors such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, textile, papermaking, environmental protection, food, municipal management, water conservancy construction, river dredging, and other fields.

under normal circumstancesElectromagnetic currentMeasuring instrumentThe protection level is IP65. According to the national standard GB4208-84 and the electrical commission standard IEC529-76, the standards for the protection level of electrical products' enclosures are as follows:

A. IP65: For anti spray type, the electromagnetic flowmeter sensor housing allows water to be sprayed onto the sensor from any direction, with a pressure of 30Kpa, a water output of 12.5L/s, and a distance of 3 meters.

B. IP67: The electromagnetic flowmeter sensor can be used for short-term immersion in water,

C. IP68: It is a submersible type suitable for long-term operation in water or underground under certain pressure. At this time, the sensor and display parts of the electromagnetic flowmeter are separated, and a modular electromagnetic flowmeter must be made, but the protection level requirements of the electromagnetic flowmeter must be emphasized.

In general, the protection level should be selected according to the actual situation. Sensors should be installed below the ground and IP68 should be selected in cases of frequent flooding. Sensors installed above the ground should choose IP65 or IP67. In any case, the display part of the electromagnetic flowmeter cannot use water or enter water, which may cause damage to the electromagnetic flowmeter.
