The difference between Anhui Tiankang flame-retardant cable and fire-resistant cable

Anhui Tiankang flame retardant cable refers to a cable in which the sample is burned under specified test conditions, and after removing the test source, the spread of the flame is only within the specified range, and the residual flame or burn can extinguish the fire on its own within a limited time. The fundamental characteristic is that it may be burned out and unable to operate in the event of a fire, but it can prevent the spread of the fire. In layman's terms, in case of a fire in the power line, it can limit the combustion to a local area, prevent spread, protect other equipment, and avoid causing greater losses.

It is easy for ordinary people to confuse the concepts of Tiankang flame-retardant cable and Tiankang fire-resistant cable, and their differences mainly lie in the following two points:

1、 The difference in principle:

The principles of Tiankang fire-resistant cable and Tiankang flame-retardant cable are different. The flame retardant principle of halogenated Tiankang cables relies on the flame retardant effect of halogens, while the flame retardant principle of halogen-free Tiankang cables relies on the cooling of water to extinguish flames. Tiankang fire-resistant cables rely on the fire-resistant and heat-resistant properties of mica materials in the fire-resistant layer to ensure that Tiankang cables work normally even in the event of a fire.

2、 The difference between structure and material

The structure and materials of Tiankang fire-resistant cables are also different from those of Tiankang flame-retardant cables. The basic structure of Tiankang flame-retardant cables is:

1. The insulation layer is made of flame-retardant materials.

2. The sheath and outer protective layer are made of flame-retardant materials.

3. The packaging and filling are made of flame-retardant materials.

And Tiankang fire-resistant cables usually add a fire-resistant layer between the conductor and the insulation layer, so theoretically, a fire-resistant layer can be added to the structure of the fire-resistant cable to form a cable that is both flame-retardant and fire-resistant. However, in practice, this is not necessary because the fire-resistant layer of Tiankang fire-resistant cables is usually wrapped directly around the wire with multiple layers of mica tape, which can withstand long-term combustion. Even if the high polymer at the location of the flame is burned, it can ensure the normal operation of the line.

Although Tiankang fire-resistant cables have many advantages that are more suitable for use in chemical enterprises, such as low halogen, low smoke, low flame retardancy, etc., in general, Tiankang fire-resistant cables can replace Tiankang fire-resistant cables, while Tiankang fire-resistant cables cannot replace them. Tiankang fire-resistant cables are widely used in high-rise buildings, underground railways, underground streets, large power stations, and important working enterprises related to fire safety and firefighting, such as power supply lines and control lines for emergency facilities such as fire equipment and emergency guide lights.
