1、 Purpose and Characteristics

The core oil-water saturation dry distillation instrument is an improvement based on the atmospheric pressure dry distillation instrument of the core company. It can be used to quickly and accurately determine the oil-water saturation of rock cores. Its main principle is to dry distill the oil-water vapor of the rock sample at different temperature ranges in a constant temperature box through heating, temperature rise, and temperature control. After condensation, the oil-water volume of the rock sample is measured and combined with other parameters to calculate the oil-water, gas, and water saturation of the rock core.

3、 Instructions for use

1. Check whether the instruments, power supply, and temperature control system are normal and intact;

2. Dry distillation preparation:

Crush and weigh the rock sample to be analyzed120g， Load into the dry distillation cylinder and insert into the liquid collection pipe;

3. Dry distillation

（1）. Initial heating, dry distilled water. Insert the distillation cups into the dry distillation box separately, cover them tightly, put in cooling water, turn on the instrument power, and first adjust the temperature to 180 ℃. When water appears in the collection tube, start recording every 5 minutes. When the data remains unchanged for three consecutive records, it indicates that the non crystalline water has been discharged.

（2）. Continue to heat up, dry distillation oil. Control the temperature at 600 ℃, drain the cooling water, record the amount of oil produced until no oil is produced. Generally, after reaching 600 ℃, the oil is distilled for another 30 minutes to complete the process. Who else evaporates during the oil extraction process? This water is considered as mineral crystal water.

4. After the dry distillation is completed, turn off the power, remove the liquid collection pipe and blow it with hot air to separate the oil and water in the pipe and improve the oil-water interface. After the dry distillation box cools down, take out the dry distillation cup for cleaning, so as to prepare for the next sample.

5. In the process of measuring the volume of oil and water, the measured volume of oil and water must be corrected. The correction method refers to the recommended method for determining saturation in conventional core analysis (atmospheric distillation method).

4、 Precautions

1. The instrument needs to have good grounding before it can be used;

2. The sieve in the dry distillation cup must be properly padded, and the cover should be tightly closed after sample loading. Poor sealing can affect measurement accuracy.

3. Before installing the sample, it is necessary to carefully check whether the dry distillation cup and the return pipe are unobstructed, and there should be no foreign objects blocking them, otherwise it will affect the dry distillation analysis, especially when it is reused, it must be cleaned.
