Metal tube float flowmeter is a flow meter based on the principle of variable area measurement, which reflects the fluid flow rate by the position change of the float in the measuring tube. It is widely used in industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical, power, pharmaceutical, food, water treatment, etc.

Selection and installation precautions for metal tube float flowmeter

Medium characteristics: Select appropriate materials (such as stainless steel, Hastelloy) and structural types (such as corrosion-resistant and jacketed) based on the temperature, pressure, corrosiveness, and viscosity of the medium.

Flow range: Ensure that the measurement range covers the actual flow rate and avoid long-term operation at the lower limit of the measurement range, which may increase measurement errors.

Installation conditions:

Vertical installation, the angle between the centerline and the plumb line should not exceed 5 °, and high-precision instruments should be ≤ 2 °.

The fluid flows from bottom to top to avoid pulsating flow or severe vibration. If necessary, a buffer or damping device should be installed.

When measuring fluids containing impurities, install a front filter to prevent the float from getting stuck; When containing ferromagnetic impurities, install a magnetic filter in front.

Signal output: Select local indication type or electric remote transmission type according to automation control requirements, supporting 4-20mA signal output and digital communication function.

Explosion proof requirements: Explosion proof flow meters should be selected in flammable and explosive environments to ensure production safety.
