Salt dry wet test chamberIt is an important equipment used to simulate environmental conditions such as salt spray and wet dry alternation, and to test the corrosion resistance of materials or products. Proper operation of the salt dry wet test chamber is crucial for obtaining accurate and reliable test results. The following will provide a detailed introduction to the operation steps of the salt dry wet test chamber.

Experimental preparation stage
1. Equipment inspection
Before using the salt dry wet test chamber, a comprehensive inspection of the equipment should be conducted first. Check whether the appearance of the device is damaged, including whether there are cracks or deformations in the box, and whether the door seal is good. Check whether the pipes of the test chamber are tightly connected and whether there is looseness or leakage, especially the pipes of the salt spray spray system, to ensure that the salt spray can spray normally without dripping. At the same time, check whether the power line is connected correctly and whether the grounding is good to avoid electrical safety issues during the testing process.
2. Preparation of test samples
Prepare the samples to be tested according to the experimental requirements. The selection of samples should be representative, and their shape, size, and surface condition should comply with the test standards. If there are impurities such as oil stains and dust on the surface of the sample, it needs to be cleaned to ensure the accuracy of the test results. The cleaning method can be selected according to the material of the sample, such as wiping the surface of the metal sample with alcohol, but attention should be paid to avoiding damage to the surface of the sample. The cleaned samples should be placed properly to prevent further contamination.
3. Experimental solution configuration
The salt dry wet test usually uses a specific concentration of salt solution. Determine the concentration and composition of the salt solution according to the test standards, and the common salt spray test solution is sodium chloride solution. When preparing the solution, high-purity chemical reagents and deionized or distilled water should be used to reduce the influence of impurities on the test results. Using precise measuring tools such as scales, measuring cylinders, etc., accurately weigh sodium chloride according to the specified ratio and dissolve it in water. Stir evenly to ensure accurate solution concentration. The prepared solution should be poured into the salt tank, and the liquid level in the salt tank should be observed carefully, not exceeding the highest liquid level mark.
Experimental parameter setting stage
1. Temperature setting
Temperature is one of the important factors affecting the results of salt dry wet tests. Set the appropriate test temperature according to the test standards and sample characteristics. Find the temperature adjustment button on the control panel of the salt dry wet test chamber, which usually has two settings: high temperature and low temperature. For example, for salt spray testing of some metal materials, the high temperature may be set to 35 and the low temperature may be set to 25. When setting up, attention should be paid to the temperature fluctuation range, which should be within the allowable accuracy range of the equipment. Generally, the temperature fluctuation should not exceed ± 0.5 to ensure the stability of the test environment.
2. Humidity setting
Humidity is also a key parameter in the salt dry wet test. Set corresponding humidity values according to different experimental requirements. The control of humidity is usually achieved through a humidity regulation system inside the test chamber. Some salt dry wet test chambers can directly set the relative humidity value, such as in some simulated marine environment tests, the relative humidity may be set to 95%. When setting humidity, it is important to understand the humidity control range and accuracy of the equipment to ensure that the set humidity value can be accurately maintained at the level required for the experiment.
3. spray pressure and time setting
The spray pressure determines the spray effect and uniformity of salt spray. Adjust the spray pressure according to the instructions of the test chamber. Generally speaking, the salt spray spray pressure is set between 0.07MPa and 0.17MPa. At the same time, set the spray time and interval time to simulate different salt spray environments. For example, spray can be set for 15 minutes with an interval of 30 minutes to achieve the test condition of alternating dry and wet through such a cycle. The setting of spray time and interval time shall be adjusted reasonably according to the test standard and the characteristics of samples.
Experimental operation phase
1. Start the experiment
After completing all the preparations and parameter settings mentioned above, close the test chamber door to ensure good sealing. Press the start button, and the device will start running according to the set parameters. At this point, observe the operating status of the equipment, such as whether the indicator light is on normally, whether each system is working properly, and whether the salt spray can be sprayed normally. If any abnormal operation of the equipment is found, the test should be stopped immediately, the cause should be checked and eliminated.
2. Process monitoring
During the experiment, the test chamber should be monitored regularly. Observe whether the temperature and humidity in the test chamber are within the set value range, whether the spray is uniform, and whether there are abnormal phenomena, such as low liquid level in the salt solution tank, abnormal noise in the equipment, etc. Test data shall be recorded at regular intervals, including temperature, humidity, spray time, etc., so as to track and analyze the whole test process. If it is necessary to adjust the test parameters during the experiment, it should be done according to the operating instructions of the equipment to avoid affecting the test results due to improper operation.
3. Safety precautions
During the experimental operation, safety operating procedures must be strictly followed. During the operation of the test chamber, it is forbidden to open the chamber door at will to avoid harm to operators caused by high temperature, high humidity, and salt spray. At the same time, due to the corrosive nature of salt spray, it is necessary to ensure the normal operation of the ventilation system during the test, discharge the exhaust gas generated during the test outdoors, and maintain good indoor air quality. If an emergency situation occurs during the testing process, such as equipment fire, leakage, etc., the emergency stop button should be immediately pressed and corresponding emergency measures should be taken.
Experimental end stage
1. Stop the experiment
When the experiment reaches the predetermined time, press the stop button to stop the operation of the salt dry wet test chamber. After waiting for the temperature and humidity inside the device to decrease to near room temperature, open the door of the test chamber. When opening the box door, be careful to prevent salt spray and heat from causing harm to the human body. Protective gloves and masks can be worn.
2. Sample extraction and inspection
Carefully remove the test sample to avoid causing secondary damage to the sample. Conduct a visual inspection of the sample, observe the corrosion on the surface of the sample, such as rust, discoloration, peeling, etc., and keep records. You can use a camera to take photos of the appearance of the sample for a more intuitive analysis of the test results. According to the experimental requirements, further testing of the sample can be carried out, such as measuring the thickness of corrosion products, analyzing the composition of corrosion products, etc.
3. Equipment cleaning and maintenance
After the experiment is completed, the salt dry wet test chamber should be cleaned and maintained. First, discharge the remaining salt solution in the salt solution tank, and flush the salt solution tank and spray system with clean water to remove the residual salt solution and prevent the salt solution from corroding the internal parts of the equipment. Then, wipe the inside of the test chamber with a clean damp cloth to remove salt spray deposits and impurities. For the exterior of the equipment, it should also be cleaned to maintain a clean appearance. Finally, check whether each component of the equipment is normal. If there are damaged or aged components, they should be replaced and maintained in a timely manner to prepare for the next test.
