China Datang Corporation Limited, established on December 29, 2002, is a super large power generation enterprise group based on some enterprises and institutions of the former State Power Corporation. It is a state-owned sole proprietorship directly managed by the central government and is a nationally authorized investment institution and a pilot state holding company approved by the State Council.

As of the end of 2011, China Datang Corporation's assets in service and under construction were distributed in 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country, as well as in countries such as Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Kazakhstan. The installed power generation capacity reached 144.21 million kilowatts, an increase of 5.05 times from the initial 23.8475 million kilowatts. The total assets reached 758.5 billion yuan, and the total number of employees exceeded 100000.
