1、 Judging its accuracy from the initial selection

According to industry insiders, there are various types of steam flow meters on the market now, and different industries and steam measurements have different requirements for flow meters. This inevitably leads to different initial flow meter selection for different industries. In the selection process, procurement personnel need to consider two main factors:

1. Range issue of flowmeter

Due to the division of steam consumption into peak and off peak seasons, the amount used in the off peak season is often much less than that in the peak season, and the difference in steam consumption is significant. This makes it difficult for general flow meters to achieve their range, requiring procurement personnel to choose flow meters that meet operating parameters based on their own enterprise's steam consumption range.

2. The size of the pipeline diameter

Due to differences in the manufacturing process of flow meters in enterprises, there may still be differences between the actual pipe diameter value and the nominal pipe diameter value, and the magnitude of these differences will affect the final measurement results. To reduce errors, it is recommended to choose a flow meter with an inner diameter value of ± 0.3%.

2、 Correct installation of flow meter

The inaccurate measurement results of most steam flow meters are due to installation errors or irregularities. To ensure the accuracy of the final flow meter, it is necessary to follow proper procedures when installing the flow meter, such as reserving a sufficiently long straight pipe section, installing the instrument at the lower part of the entire pipeline, installing the condenser at the same level, and installing the temperature measuring element below the throttling element. This installation process is more conducive to improving the final accuracy.

3、 Pay attention to the maintenance of steam flow meters

This is also a necessary measure to ensure accuracy. Long term operation in high temperature and high pressure environments can easily cause damage to the instrument, blockage by impurities, and affect its performance. Regular maintenance, inspection, and replacement of the instrument are necessary
