Yesterday afternoon, a customer from Weifang came to the company for inspection and needed to purchase a batch of magnetic flap level gauges. They went to the magnetic flap level gauge production workshop and looked at them for a long time. The length varied, and the materials included 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, PP material, and 304 lined PTFE PVC、PE, The installation methods include flange, thread, sanitary type, remote transmission, alarm switch, HART protocol, and some are also resistant to high temperature and high pressure. The product structure also includes side mounted, top mounted, vacuum jacket, electric tracing, steam jacket, etc. Faced with so many product categories, the customer inquired on site which one is suitable for us. We carefully asked the customer about the occasions where they need to install a magnetic flap level gauge on site, the height of the storage tank, what medium is inside, and other parameter requirements. Finally, we helped the customer choose a suitable magnetic flap level gauge, and the customer was very satisfied.
Today we will talk about what parameters are needed to know when purchasing a magnetic flap level gauge? Specifically, the following parameters need to be known
Magnetic flap level gauge is a type of instrument used for on-site tank level indication, widely used in large power and chemical enterprises. Due to the complex working conditions, there are many models of magnetic flap level gauges, such as side installation, top installation, whether it has remote signal output, whether it is corrosion-resistant, whether it needs jacket insulation, and so on. The magnetic flap level gauge can only measure accurately if it is selected correctly and suitable for the on-site working conditions.
Firstly, it is necessary to know the measuring medium
When selecting a magnetic flap level gauge, knowing the medium to be measured is extremely critical, such as temperature, corrosiveness, medium density, and medium viscosity, which are all fatal factors of the magnetic flap level gauge. If the medium is not clear, choosing it arbitrarily will not only result in measurement accuracy errors, but also directly affect the service life of the magnetic flap; Or it may be directly impossible to measure the working conditions.
Secondly, it is necessary to know the working temperature of the medium
At room temperature, magnetic flap level gauges produced by regular manufacturers can be used. But some media have their inherent peculiarities. For example, liquid carbon dioxide is liquid below -78.5 ℃ under normal pressure, but it becomes gaseous at room temperature, so we cannot measure it at room temperature. In this case, we need to use an anti frost magnetic float level gauge. Xiangyuan Technology has done such a case for Chuanqing Changqing Underground Technical Operation Company.
Thirdly, it is necessary to know the measurement range
When using a magnetic flap level gauge to measure liquid level height, the range is one of the key factors. If the specific range cannot be confirmed, the installation position may need to be adjusted during construction to meet the working conditions. If the range error is relatively large, it will directly affect the measurement effect.
Generally speaking, the range of stainless steel level gauges is between 200mm and 6000mm, and those exceeding 6000mm are manufactured in sections to meet the requirements; The range of anti-corrosion PP/PVC material is 4000mm, and similarly, if it exceeds this range, it is generally manufactured in sections.
Fourthly, it is necessary to know whether output signals, control contacts, etc. are required
According to on-site needs, 4~20mA, 4~20mA+HATR, 1~5VDC, 485, etc. can be selected to control contacts such as pump start and high/low level alarms. It can also be used in conjunction with DCS and PLC.
Fifth, it is necessary to know the explosion-proof requirements
In flammable and explosive environments such as petrochemicals, we must use explosion-proof magnetic flap level gauges. Explosion proof EXDIICT5, intrinsically safe explosion-proof EXiaIICT6;
Seventh, it is necessary to know the product structure
When selecting a magnetic flap level gauge, there are some other parameters that need to be clarified, such as special installation methods, drainage, exhaust, insulation, heat tracing, etc.
