Maintenance Plan and Practice of Explosion proof Integrated Temperature Transmitter
Date: 2025-12-19Read: 10

Explosion proof integrated temperature transmitters, as the core equipment in the field of industrial temperature measurement, are widely used in flammable and explosive environments such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and gas. Its explosion-proof performance and measurement accuracy directly affect production safety and process stability. This article systematically elaborates on the maintenance strategy of explosion-proof integrated temperature transmitters from four aspects: daily inspection, environmental management, calibration and maintenance, and fault handling.

1、 Daily inspection: Basic condition monitoring

Daily inspections should focus on the appearance, connecting components, and operational status of equipment. Check the integrity of the transmitter housing and the explosion-proof joint surface for scratches or corrosion daily to ensure that the explosion-proof sealing performance is not damaged. At the same time, observe whether the wiring terminals are loose, especially confirm that the power line and signal line are securely connected to prevent an increase in contact resistance or the risk of electric sparks caused by poor contact. The transmitter operation indicator light can intuitively reflect the device status: a constant power light indicates normal power supply, and a flashing measurement light indicates that the sensor is working properly; If the fault alarm light is on, immediately investigate the cause.

2、 Environmental Management: Ensuring Explosion proof and Measurement Performance

Explosion proof integrated temperature transmitter is sensitive to environmental temperature, humidity, and mechanical vibration. Ensure that the temperature at the installation site is controlled within-40℃to85℃Within the range, the humidity is below95%RHTo avoid the performance degradation of electronic components or deformation of explosion-proof structures caused by extreme environments. In high-temperature environments, the internal components of the transmitter are prone to accelerated aging, and ventilation can be improved by installing heat sinks or adjusting the installation position; Low temperature environment may cause abnormal display on the LCD screen, so it is necessary to avoid exposing the equipment directly outdoors. In addition, at least a certain amount of space should be reserved around the equipment15cmThe maintenance space should be kept away from strong vibration sources (such as compressors and pump bodies) to prevent cracking of explosion-proof enclosures or reduced sensitivity of sensors due to mechanical stress. For scenarios with high levels of dust (such as coal processing plants), it is recommended to clean the surface and heat dissipation holes of the transmitter with dry compressed air every month to prevent dust accumulation from affecting heat dissipation efficiency.

3、 Calibration and maintenance: ensure measurement accuracy

Although frequent calibration is not necessary, regularly checking the measurement accuracy of the transmitter is still crucial. It is recommended to conduct comparative tests on the transmitter every six months using a standard temperature source (such as a dry furnace or constant temperature bath). If the measurement deviation exceeds the allowable range, it is necessary to contact the manufacturer or professional organization for calibration. Attention should be paid during the calibration process: avoid operating in extreme temperature or strong electromagnetic interference environments; Use a standard temperature source that matches the transmitter range; After calibration, the explosion-proof joint surface needs to be resealed to ensure that the protection level meets the requirements. In addition, it is necessary to regularly check whether the sensor diaphragm is clean. If the surface of the diaphragm is contaminated with oil or corrosive substances, a soft cloth dipped in a small amount of alcohol should be used to wipe it. It is strictly prohibited to use hard objects to scrape it.

4、 Fault handling: Quickly restore operation

When the transmitter experiences data abnormalities or communication interruptions, it is necessary to press“First external, then internal”Principle investigation. Firstly, check the power module to confirm that the input voltage is stable and there is no overvoltage/Undervoltage situation; Next, test the signal line and determine whether it is a cable fault through short-circuit testing; If the problem still persists, you can try restarting the transmitter (some models support remote reset). For explosion-proof performance related faults (such as shell cracking, loose joint surfaces), the equipment should be immediately stopped and professional personnel should be contacted for handling. It is strictly prohibited to disassemble or repair without authorization.

The maintenance of explosion-proof integrated temperature transmitters requires preventive management as the core. Through standardized inspection procedures, environmental control measures, and regular calibration mechanisms, the service life of the equipment can be significantly extended and the failure rate can be reduced. Practice has shown that a systematic maintenance strategy can improve the stability of transmitter operation and provide solid guarantees for the safe and efficient operation of industrial production.
