Accurate Installation Guide: Deployment of "Zero Problem" Side Mounted Magnetic Flip Plate Liquid Level Gauge throughout the Entire Process

In the liquid level monitoring of storage tanks in industries such as chemical, petroleum, and food,Side mounted magnetic flap level gaugeWith advantages such as corrosion resistance, maintenance free, and intuitive display, it has become the mainstream choice.As a third-generation upgraded product, the installation accuracy of the XX-UFZ series directly affects measurement stability - if not installed properly, it can easily lead to problems such as float jamming and abnormal flipping of the magnetic flap. This article combines the structural characteristics of the equipment, disassembles the key installation steps and key points for avoiding pitfalls.

  1、 Three checks and three backups before installation
1. Equipment inspection
Verify the compatibility between the measuring range of the side mounted magnetic flap level gauge (0-3000mm customizable) and the height of the storage tank;
Check if the float material (304/316L stainless steel or PP) is compatible with the medium;
Test the sensitivity of magnetic flip: manually slide the float and observe whether the color switching of the flip is synchronized.
2. Environmental assessment
Confirm installation location to avoid vibration sources (such as pump body, pipeline impact zone);
Measure the thickness of the side wall of the storage tank (recommended to be ≥ 8mm), and if it is too thin, reinforcement bars should be added;
Assess whether the ambient temperature (-40 ℃~200 ℃) is within the tolerance range of the equipment.
3. Tool preparation
Special hole opener (choose DN20/DN25/DN40 according to flange size);
Leveling instrument, laser centering instrument;
Explosion proof sealant (suitable for flammable and explosive media scenarios).
  2、 Install the 'Five Step Positioning Method'
1. Hole positioning: Mark the center point of the hole on the side wall of the storage tank, ensuring a distance of ≥ 100mm from the bottom of the tank (to prevent sediment interference), and leaving a 200mm maintenance space from the top of the tank.
2. Flange connection: Use a laser centering device to adjust the parallelism between the level gauge flange and the tank flange, with a deviation of ≤ 0.5mm. When tightening the bolts, use diagonal cross tightening method.
3. Float guidance: Install the float into the main measuring tube, ensuring that the magnetic steel end is facing downwards, and slowly push it into the bottom to avoid severe collision causing magnetic attenuation.
4. Installation of drain valve: Install a DN15 drain valve at the bottom of the level gauge, with a tilt angle of ≥ 5 °, to facilitate regular discharge of condensate or impurities.
5. Protection reinforcement: Install sunscreen covers on outdoor equipment, apply epoxy resin coating on corrosive environments, and add rubber shock absorbers in vibration prone areas.
  3、 Debugging the 'double verification standard'
1. Static verification: Inject clean water into the storage tank until the liquid level reaches 50%, and observe that the height displayed by the magnetic flap has an error of ≤± 2mm compared to the actual liquid level.
2. Dynamic testing: Simulate liquid level rise and fall (speed ≤ 0.5m/min), check whether the float moves smoothly, and whether there is any jamming or garbled flipping phenomenon.
A pharmaceutical company caused float displacement due to improper installation. After repositioning, the measurement accuracy was improved to ± 1mm, and the annual maintenance cost was reduced by 60%. Remember: 90% of faults in side mounted magnetic flap level gauges are caused by the installation process. Strictly following this guide can achieve "one installation, ten years of worry free".
