Wiring and grounding precautions for turbine flow meters

Wiring and grounding precautions for turbine flow meters:
Wiring precautions
1. Try to use a complete cable as much as possible.
2. It should be kept as far away as possible from sources of electrical noise (such as high-power transformers, motors, and strong power lines), and parallel wiring with power lines should be avoided.
3. It is recommended to use non soldered clamping lugs at the end of thick wires.
4. To prevent water and mechanical damage, the cable should be installed in a metal conduit, but there should be no high-power transmission cables in the same conduit. (When the maximum power transmitted by one transmission cable is greater than 10 times the minimum power transmitted by the flowmeter signal cable, the two cannot be installed in the same conduit).
5. For areas with strong external magnetic fields, the axis of the detection device should be perpendicular to the magnetic flux direction of the external magnetic field or the flow sensor or external magnetic source should be shielded with highly permeable materials.
6. The connection of explosion-proof turbine flow sensor cables must strictly comply with the relevant standards of explosion-proof amplifiers.
Grounding issue
1. Shielded wires can only be grounded at one end, and grounded at the display instrument end.
2. The grounding should be good and reliable, and the explosion-proof grounding resistance should be less than 10 Ω.
When using a turbine flowmeter, the following points should be noted:
1. Require the tested medium to be clean, with low viscosity, low corrosiveness, and free of impurities to reduce wear on the bearings. If the measured liquid gas or contains gas, a gas eliminator should be installed in front of the flowmeter. To prevent impurities from entering the transmitter and damaging it, as well as to prevent the turbine from getting stuck, it is necessary to install a filter if necessary.
2. The installation of flow meters should avoid vibration, magnetic fields, and thermal radiation.
3. The changes in density and viscosity of the medium have an impact on the flow indication and should be corrected if necessary.
