Intrinsic safety type is an explosion-proof type of electrical equipment that limits the energy of electrical sparks or thermal effects that may occur inside the equipment and the connecting wires exposed to potentially explosive environments to a level that cannot ignite.
By controlling the energy level of the device itself to be below the critical condition for igniting explosive gases under normal working or fault conditions, without generating sparks or exceeding the temperature for igniting explosive gases, without the need for other means of shielding or blocking.
By limiting various parameters of electrical equipment circuits or taking protective measures to limit the spark discharge energy and thermal energy of the circuit, the electrical sparks and thermal effects generated under normal operation and specified fault conditions cannot ignite the explosive mixture in the surrounding environment, thus achieving electrical explosion-proof. The circuit of this electrical equipment itself has explosion-proof performance, which means it is inherently safe, hence it is called intrinsic safety type.
Shielded cables for intrinsically safe computers (also known as cables for intrinsically safe DCS systems) are suitable for use in hazardous environments such as petroleum, chemical, power, gas engineering, mining, and other places with high explosion-proof safety requirements, transmitting automatic control signals. This cable has low capacitance and low inductance distributed instrument signal cable, abbreviated as intrinsic safety DCS system cable, with excellent shielding performance and anti-interference performance. Therefore, its explosion-proof safety performance is significantly higher than that of general DCS system cables and computer control cables.
Usage characteristics
1. Rated AC voltage U0/U: 300/500V
2. The maximum allowable working temperature for cable conductors in the long term is 70 ℃ for PVC insulation; Cross linked polyethylene insulation at 90 ℃; The insulation of halogen-free low smoke flame-retardant polyolefin is 70 ℃.
3. Lowest ambient temperature: -40 ℃ for fixed installation; Non fixed installation -15 ℃; The ambient temperature during installation and laying shall not be lower than 0 ℃.
4. Allowable bending radius for cables: Non armored and braided shielded cables shall not be less than 6 times the outer diameter of the cable; Copper tape shielded and armored cables shall not be less than 12 times the outer diameter of the cable.
