Using electromagnetic flowmeter in relatively large bubble media
Date: 2020-09-16Read: 6
Electromagnetic FlowmeterDuring the process of measuring liquids, there may be many bubbles, which often leads to measurement errors in the flowmeter and affects its use.
Generally, the fluid measured by an electromagnetic flowmeter contains some bubbles, and if these bubbles are evenly distributed, they will not affect the measurement. However, once the bubbles become larger, they can cover the entire electrode when they rub against it, causing the flow signal input circuit to momentarily open and causing the output signal to shake.
How to determine if the measurement error of an electromagnetic flowmeter is caused by the presence of bubbles in the measured liquid? How should this situation be handled? Let's give a brief introduction.
When the measurement results show shaking, immediately cut off the excitation circuit current of the magnetic field. If the instrument still displays and is unstable at this time, it is mostly due to the influence of bubbles.
After determining the impact of a large number of bubbles on the measurement results of the electromagnetic flowmeter, relevant solutions need to be found. If it is determined that the installation position is causing a large number of bubbles to merge into the liquid, such as when the electromagnetic flowmeter is installed at a high point in the pipeline and stores gas or inhales air from the outside, causing the flowmeter to shake, changing the installation position is an effective solution. However, in many applications where the diameter is large or the installation position is difficult to change, it is recommended to install a gas collection bag and exhaust valve upstream of the electromagnetic flowmeter to eliminate excess gas, reduce the factors affecting the measurement results, and ensure the accuracy of the measurement.
