What are the things we should pay attention to when using a pressure transmitter?
Date: 2025-04-08Read: 7
1、 Installation specifications
Location selection
Stay away from strong vibration sources, high temperature areas, and electromagnetic interference equipment
When measuring liquid pressure, the transmitter should be lower than the pressure point to avoid the mixing of bubbles; When measuring gas, it needs to be higher than the pressure point
.
High temperature media (such as steam) require the installation of buffer tubes, condensers, or heat sinks to prevent sensor overheating
.
Sealing and Protection
The interface needs to use raw tape or sealant to ensure no leakage
.
Install waterproof joints during outdoor installation to prevent rainwater from seeping in and causing short circuits
.
2、 Electrical safety
Voltage limit
The power supply voltage should not exceed 36V to avoid burning the sensor
Explosion proof scenarios require the use of certified models and standardized grounding
.
Anti interference measures
The signal line adopts shielded cable and is laid separately from the power cable
The shielded wire needs to be reliably connected to the metal casing to enhance its anti-interference ability
3、 Media processing
Media compatibility
The membrane material in contact with the medium needs to be corrosion-resistant (such as 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy)
The temperature of the measured medium shall not exceed the nominal range of the transmitter, as frozen medium may damage the diaphragm
Anti clogging and cleaning
Regularly clean the installation holes and pressure pipes to prevent the deposition of debris from affecting measurement accuracy
4、 Maintenance and Calibration
Regular maintenance
Check the sealing to prevent leakage from causing corrosion or failure of the sensor
Antifreezing measures (such as adding insulation layer) should be taken in winter to prevent the liquid at the pressure inlet from freezing and expanding
Calibration requirements
Calibration is required after new installation or long-term use (recommended every six months), and the calibration environment temperature should be stable (20 ℃± 5 ℃)
Use high-precision standard pressure sources (such as 0.1% FS grade equipment) for calibration
5、 Environmental adaptability
Temperature and humidity control: The working temperature should be within the nominal range of the transmitter. Heat sinks should be added in high temperature environments, and IP65 or higher protection level should be selected in humid environments
Layout of pressure pipes: installed in areas with small temperature fluctuations to avoid thermal expansion and contraction affecting measurement results
6、 Other precautions
Avoid direct impact of liquid or gas on the sensor diaphragm (such as water hammer phenomenon), and prevent damage to the diaphragm due to overpressure
Threaded connections must match standards (such as NPT, G threads) to ensure stable installation
By following the above specifications, the measurement accuracy of pressure transmitters can be significantly improved, their service life can be extended, and the risk of system failure can be reduced.
