The daily maintenance of environmental radon measuring instruments is very particular
Date: 2025-07-16Read: 9
Environmental Radon Measuring InstrumentIt is a professional equipment used to measure radon concentration in the environment. The measurement principle is mainly based on radioactive decay and electrostatic collection methods. The instrument extracts a certain amount of air, soil, or water sample, uses electrostatic collection technology to adsorb radon and its progeny onto the detector, and then measures the alpha or beta particles produced by its radioactive decay to calculate the concentration of radon.
Environmental radon measuring instruments are widely used for monitoring indoor radiation environment radon levels and pollution control in civil construction projects, investigating and evaluating radon concentration in soil at civil construction sites, as well as monitoring environmental radon concentration in mineral resource exploration, engineering geological exploration, nuclear industry departments, earthquake and geological disaster prediction and monitoring, and other fields. In addition, environmental radon meters can also be used for radon concentration and radiation detection in geological surveys to determine geological structures and water quality evaluations.
  Environmental Radon Measuring InstrumentDaily maintenance:
1. Clean the surface of the instrument
Wipe the instrument casing with a soft dry cloth or dust-free paper to avoid the accumulation of dust and oil stains.
If you need to clean the probe or sensor part, you can use a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of anhydrous ethanol (alcohol) to gently wipe to prevent liquid from seeping into the interior.
2. Check battery level
Check the battery status before daily use to ensure sufficient power (low battery may affect detection accuracy).
When not in use for a long time, remove the battery to prevent leakage and corrosion of the circuit.
3. Avoid harsh environments
Avoid exposing the instrument to high temperatures, high humidity, strong magnetic fields, or strong radiation environments (such as near X-ray equipment or electromagnetic interference sources).
When using in rainy or snowy weather, waterproof protection should be taken (such as using a waterproof cover) to prevent liquids from entering the interior of the instrument.
4. Regularly replace consumables
If the instrument uses desiccants, filters, or adsorbents (such as activated carbon filters), they should be replaced regularly according to the instructions.
Check whether the air circuit connecting pipe is aged or cracked, and replace damaged parts in a timely manner.
