As a major producer and consumer of electrolytic aluminum, although China has made many outstanding contributions in aluminum production, there is still a problem of sustained high energy consumption per unit output. The anode conductive rod, an important component used in the electrolytic aluminum industry, is connected by explosive welding or friction welding between the aluminum conductive rod and the steel claw. There is an interface layer formed by the mutual diffusion of the aluminum and steel parts at the joint. Due to the different physical and chemical properties of the two materials, there are certain differences in mechanical and electrical properties between the joint area and other parts. If the welding quality is poor, it will further affect the normal use of the guide rod in the subsequent electrolysis process. The current method commonly adopted by factories is to directly observe the anode conductive rod before electrolytic production with the naked eye. This method has no evaluation criteria and is highly random, making it impossible to determine the actual welding situation of the conductive rod joint. Traditional non-destructive testing methods have many practical problems in the process of use, such as high operational difficulty, high labor intensity, production conditions that do not allow, and inability to perform real-time testing. In response to the objective issues mentioned above, our company has specially developed and produced an electrolytic cell anode guide rod welding quality tester.
