1、 Product Introduction
ML3 radar wave fixed-point online flow measurement is a fully automatic flow telemetry system that can monitor the flow process of open channel water throughout the entire process. This flow measurement system is not affected by temperature, humidity, rainfall, water depth, turbid water, or floating debris on the water surface, making it very suitable for flow measurement in open channels such as irrigation areas and rivers under water conditions.
2、 Components
Main components of equipment
(1) Three in one radar water level, surface velocity, and flow rate;
(2) Remote telemetry terminal RTU;
(3) Solar power supply system;
(4) Pole and bracket;
(5) Lightning protection grounding.
3、 Working principle
The radar surface current meter is based on the principle of pulse radar technology to measure the surface velocity of water in rivers and canals, and is used in conjunction with radar water level sensors. It is installed at regular sections of open channels such as rivers and irrigation areas to calculate flow rate. That is, at regular sections, the velocity of water flowing through the section is measured, and the depth of the water body is measured. The flow rate through the section is calculated using mathematical geometric principles.

4、 Characteristics of flow measurement station
The main feature of the radar surface flow measurement system is the use of non-contact flow measurement. It mainly consists of a set of radar water level, flow velocity, and flow rate three in one sensors, which are suspended above the channel through a vertical pole. By measuring the water level depth and instantaneous surface flow velocity of a regular section, the flow rate passing through that section at that moment is calculated. The main characteristics are as follows:
(1) Advantages
Adopting non-contact installation, it can be installed with water and is not limited by channel water flow or accumulated water;
Unobstructed water phenomenon;
Not easily affected by debris and floating objects in the channel;
Not affected by water quality and sediment content;
Suitable for channels with fast flow rates and high traffic volume.
(2) Interference factors
The impact of wind speed: Wind speed can easily cause fluctuations in the water surface, leading to false alarms and false detections;
Slow flow velocity: When the water surface flow velocity is slow, the measurement error increases;
Wind and sand weather: Wind and sand weather has a significant impact on the signal strength of radar waves, resulting in significant measurement errors;
Heavy rainfall weather: When encountering heavy rainfall weather, radar waves are easily affected by the intensity of the rain, resulting in significant measurement errors.
