Explanation of Ireland's Monica Technology Combustible Gas Sensor
Date: 2025-12-18Read: 10

Monica Technology is an expert in designing, developing, and manufacturing gas detection equipment. Monica was founded in 1988 and quickly became a market leader in gas detection systems through its cost-effective and high-quality certified products. Many innovative design concepts are combined with strict quality control systems to produce instruments that are widely recognized by many leading international chemical, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor companies today.

Monitor:

Single channel gas monitor: The Monica single channel gas monitor is an innovative and cost-effective wall mounted device. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the T100 toxic gas detector or the highly successful CGS500 combustible gas sensor to monitor a range of toxic gases, combustible gases, and gases in various applications. The single channel gas monitor is also compatible with various third-party sensors and 4-20mA transmitters, including temperature probes. The gas concentration is displayed on a 4-digit 7-segment display, while another 2-character alphanumeric display indicates the instrument status.

The single channel gas monitor is easy to use and controlled by a microprocessor, with menu assistance functions. Users can program alarm setpoints, relay options, ranges, sensor types, gas types, and many other parameters in a user-friendly manner, providing unique flexibility and control over the system. Monica has pioneered a new method of processing sensor signals through advanced analysis programs in the microprocessor, significantly reducing false alarms. Monica's digital signal processing algorithm is an innovative method used to compensate for RF1, humidity changes EM1、 The adverse effects of pressure changes, vibrations, and electrical noise. 4-channel gas monitor: The Monica 4-channel gas monitor is an innovative and cost-effective wall mounted device. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the T100 toxic gas detector and the highly successful CGS500 combustible gas sensor to monitor a range of toxic gases, combustible gases, and gases in a wide range of applications. 4-channel gas is also compatible with various third-party 4-20mA transmitters, including temperature probes. The gas concentration is displayed on a 4-digit 7-segment display, while another 2-character alphanumeric display indicates the instrument status. the

Three display screens indicate active channels. The 4-channel gas monitor is easy to use and controlled by a microprocessor, with menu assistance functions.

Monica's digital signal processing algorithm is an innovative method used to compensate for RH, humidity changes EM1、 The adverse effects of pressure changes, vibrations, and electrical noise. The microprocessor executes comprehensive self checking programs and continuously monitors the performance and functionality of the system. Self check routine checks the integrity of system electronic circuits, system software, sensor cables, sensor signals, auxiliary cables, etc. In case of a malfunction, the digital display screen will indicate the nature of the diagnostic mode in a user-friendly manner.

The Monica 4-channel gas monitor features a built-in battery trickle charger circuit and an optional 12V, 1.2AH rechargeable battery (sealed lead-acid type) that can be installed inside the casing to ensure uninterrupted operation in the event of a main power failure.

The combination of meticulous product design, rigorous product testing, and strict S09002 quality assurance plan ensures final feasibility at the manufacturing plant in Monica. The Monica 4-channel gas monitor provides a powerful, easy-to-use, and cost-effective method to provide an effective gas monitoring system in safety critical situations.

CGS500 Combustible Gas Sensor: The CGS500 combustible gas sensor is designed to measure the concentration of combustible gases within the range of 0-100 MLEL. CGS500 is installed in an EExe certified junction box. Each sensor contains two thermal catalytic beads. Combustible gases will oxidize on the surface of active beads, while reference beads will compensate for changes in temperature, pressure, etc. Each bead is composed of a circle of fine platinum wire, surrounded by an alumina based substrate containing a catalyst.

Electric current passes through the beads, raising the temperature to a level where oxidation occurs. The catalyst reduces the temperature at which oxidation occurs, thereby extending the lifespan of the beads and greatly reducing power consumption.

T100 transmitter: T100 is a 4-20mA two-wire transmitter that can measure various gases and is installed in a sturdy and compact metal casing. It combines advanced SMD electronic devices with a 3-electrode electrochemical sensor based on micro fuel cell technology, designed to be maintenance free and inherently stable. The sensor utilizes highly successful hand tube diffusion barrier technology, resulting in a low temperature coefficient, direct response to concentration, and relatively unaffected by pressure. The use of electrodes based on dry fuel cell technology can provide highly active materials, thereby achieving long-term stability.

The gas diffused to the sensor electrode reacts on the electrode surface through oxidation (such as CO, H2S, SO2, NO, H2, HCN, HC1, C2H40, NH3) or reduction (NO2, 03, and CI2). The reaction is catalyzed by specially developed electrode materials and designed to be specific to the gas being sensed
