Vertical combustion tester
The company was founded in 2010 by Mr. Gao Yongming, the founder of the company, who worked as a technical consultant in the textile industry in the United States for thirteen years. Later, under the recommendation of Mr. Yang Zemin, the founder of PEGASUS Tianma Company in Australia, the company jointly developed the entire exterior design of the coupe aircraft and collaborated on the testing of the entire aircraft project for nearly five years. Shanghai Chengsi Intelligent (USA) Technology Co., Ltd. has been authorized by Sincerity in the United States to become a subsidiary. Since its establishment, the company has been committed to promoting testing standards such as textile color fastness, scratching, breathability, wear, burning, sweat stains, physical properties, water repellency, waterproofing, leather, etc., including testing instruments, experimental consumables, professional testing standards, and testing method manuals.
The main products we operate include: automotive interior and exterior scratch testing instruments, color and color evaluation, microscopic and legal inspection, mattress testing instruments, carpet testing instruments, toy testing instruments, humidity measurement&control systems, soil temperature and humidity meter accessories, textile and clothing, non-woven fabric and geotextile testing instruments, breathability testing instruments, unidirectional wear resistance instruments, leather and shoe material testing instruments, filter material testing instruments, transportation testing instruments, weather resistance and aging testing instruments, high acceleration aging testing systems, oven environmental equipment, light industry and packaging material testing instruments, electronic and electrical testing instruments, photochemical spectroscopy and other testing instruments
The vertical flame chamber is used to measure the flame retardancy, glow transmission and carbonization properties of fabrics, children's clothing, foam, paper and other materials. The purpose of this manual is to provide guidance for the setup and use of VFC. Please refer to the specific test method for sample preparation and test instructions
1. Gas burner
An improved Bunsen lamp provides a non pajama testing kit. The burner includes a flame height gauge and a light guide tube. For children's sleepwear test kits, provide inclined side burners installed on the side walls of the testing room.
2. Gas connection
The gas mixture should be methane, 99% pure, or in the applicable testing method *. If using a side burner, connect the gas supply line directly to the burner inlet through the pressure regulator provided by the customer. If using a Bunsen burner, please connect your gas supply to the manual gas control unit and connect the output line of the unit to the burner inlet
3. Position and flame height of the local burner
Place the burner in a position where the center of the burner cylinder is directly lower than the center of the sample
On the burner, there is a metal flame height measuring instrument spaced 13 millimeters (1/2 inch) apart from the barrel and extending above the burner, relative to the indicator light tube. The rod has two 8 millimeter (5/16 inch) tips, marked at distances of 19 millimeters (3/4 inch) and 38 millimeters (1 and 1/2 inch) above the top of the burner. When adjusting the flame height of the burner according to the applicable testing method, please use this gauge.
4. Burner operation
During the experiment, use a side burner: hang the empty sample bracket on the support rod of the VFC chamber, and clamp the rear edge of the bracket onto the bracket guide rail extending from the rear wall of the chamber. Place the burner tube directly below the center of the sample and adjust the position of the stop ring on the burner (outside the combustion chamber). Slide the burner out (to the right) and ignite it. According to the experimental method, adjust the flame height of the burner based on the height gauge of the combustion chamber wall flame. As mentioned earlier, remove the empty sample holder and hang the loaded sample holder inside the cavity. Close the cabin door and conduct the test according to the applicable test method
1. Set the control mode switch to the automatic position.
2. Prepare your test sample and install it in the appropriate bracket in the instrument testing room.
If possible, place the burner under the sample according to your testing method.
4. On the AGC, open the main gas shut-off valve by lifting the toggle lever upwards until the lever points outward from the panel.
Attention: Opening this valve allows gas to enter the pilot burner, and the pilot must be ignited immediately.
5. Ignite the pilot burner.
6. Close the instrument room door.
7. Press the timer reset button below the running time display on the AGC. If the monitor is counting, press the timer start button to turn it off. Press the timer reset button to display zero.
To start the test, simultaneously press the burner start button and timer start button on the AGC. The correct operation will be indicated by the lighting of both switches. If neither of them lights up, press the timer start switch to turn off the light and press the timer reset button below the running time display. At the same time, press both start switches again to start the test.
When the timer indicates 15 seconds (HMV) or 12 seconds (VFC), the burner will turn off. You can continue counting the time that has passed and stop it as needed by pressing the timer start button. You can also use the timer start button to stop it, reset it to zero using the timer reset switch, and restart it by pressing the timer start button to time burn events. Press the timer start button again to stop it.
10. Use the runtime display described above or use the handheld event timer provided by AGC to time the required events.
11. Additional testing can be performed by repeating steps 6-8 above.
12. After using AGC, always close the main gas shut-off valve by pushing the switching lever to the * downward position (do not point outside the panel). Cut off the gas supply to your fuel tank or equipment. By moving the control mode switch to the center position, the AGC is electrically turned off.
