1、 Instructions for Partial Discharge Tester

Partial discharge refers to the discharge phenomenon where the field strength generated by the applied voltage in electrical equipment is sufficient to cause discharge in the insulation area, but no fixed discharge channel is formed within the discharge area.

2、 Introduction to Partial Discharge Tester for Partial Discharge

Partial discharge phenomenon primarily refers to high-voltage electrical equipment.

The discharge that occurs within a certain range of electrical equipment insulation under the action of a satisfactory strong electric field. This discharge is limited to only forming a short (bridge) connection between the insulation parts of the conductors and not forming a conductive channel. Each partial discharge has some impact on the insulation medium, and the fine partial discharge has a smaller impact on the insulation of power equipment, resulting in a slower decrease in insulation strength; Intense partial discharge will cause a rapid decrease in insulation strength. This is an important factor causing insulation damage to high-voltage power equipment. Therefore, when planning the insulation of high-voltage power equipment, it is necessary to consider that under the long-term operating voltage, intense partial discharge is not allowed to occur inside the insulation structure. Strengthen monitoring of equipment at work. When partial discharge exceeds a certain level, the equipment should be taken out of service for maintenance or replacement.

3、 Partial discharge tester: The impact of partial discharge on power equipment

When partial discharge occurs in insulation, it will affect the insulation life. Each discharge, the impact of high-energy electrons or accelerated electrons, especially long-term partial discharge, can cause various forms of physical effects and chemical reactions. For example, when charged particles collide with the outer wall of a bubble, they may break the chemical bonds of the insulation and cause cracking, damaging the molecular structure of the insulation, resulting in insulation degradation and accelerating the process of insulation damage.
