The working principle of photoelectric liquid level switch is based on the reflection and refraction phenomena of light. It contains a near-infrared light-emitting diode and a photosensitive receiver inside.

In the absence of liquid, the light emitted by the light-emitting diode is directly reflected back to the receiver from the lens. When the liquid submerges the lens, the light is refracted into the liquid, causing the receiver to not receive or only receive a small amount of light, thereby achieving the determination of the liquid level.

02 Installation and Maintenance Guide

Installation precautions

Installation location:It is recommended to install a liquid level sensor from the side or bottom. Avoid installing from the top as this may cause droplets to hang on top of the sensor, leading to false alarms. For non viscous liquids, downward installation is usually feasible, especially when there is a high liquid level alarm and the system is shut down.

Keep clean:Regularly clean the probe of the photoelectric liquid level switch to keep it clean and dry, and avoid impurities in the liquid affecting measurement accuracy. If there is algae or other residual accumulation on the top of the sensor, cleaning media should be used to clean the outer surface, but material compatibility should be noted to avoid using cleaning agents that may damage the sensor material.

According to the characteristics and application environment of the instrument itself, corresponding maintenance measures should be taken, such as avoiding contact between the instrument and corrosive media, reducing mechanical wear, etc.

Environmental lighting:Avoid installing sensors in locations that may be exposed to direct ambient light to reduce the risk of false alarms.

Reflective surface:If you need to install the sensor within 10mm of the reflective surface, please consult a technician first. Especially for LLG sensors provided by the industrial mining network, it is advisable to avoid placing the top of the sensor within 50mm of the reflective surface.

Electrical connection guidance

Wire protection: Do not immerse the sensor wires in liquid for a long time to avoid irreparable damage.

Load impedance: Ensure that the load impedance does not exceed the output current when connecting the load. Before installation, please confirm the relevant technical parameters.

Avoid short circuiting: Short circuiting the output to VS or VO can cause irreversible damage to the sensor.

Installation method: Do not hang the sensor to avoid damage.

Cable protection: Avoid excessive dragging of cables, such as pulling or tugging, as this may damage the cables or connections.
