This requires us to be cautious when choosing instruments, not only considering performance and price, but also the occasions in which the instrument is used, the type of gas being measured, and corrosiveness. The overall principle is as follows:

1) Humidity benchmark: Considering the requirement for high measurement accuracy and ideal sample gas, a cold mirror dew point meter should generally be selected.

2) Enterprise benchmark or laboratory analysis: If high measurement accuracy is required, cold mirror instruments can be used.

3) On site testing: If high measurement accuracy is required, cold mirror instruments (as above) can be used.

4) Continuous online monitoring: If the accuracy requirement is not too high, impedance capacitance method instruments can be used.

5) Natural gas explosion-proof measurement: In the petrochemical and natural gas industries, we require explosion-proof treatment, so specific intrinsic safety explosion-proof dew point meters are needed.

6) Dew point measurement in the gas air separation industry: We know that in the air separation industry, it is generally required to have a very low moisture content and a dew point below -70 ℃ (1ppm level). In principle, cold mirror dew point meters, electrolytic dew point meters, and thin film dew point meters cannot measure gases below -80 ℃. Therefore, it is more appropriate to choose a dew point meter based on the capacitance principle.
