Possible reasons and solutions:
Improper installation position or direction
Reason: The probe is not aligned with the object surface, the installation tilt is too large, the sound wave beam is obstructed by obstacles or reflected onto the tank wall.
solve:
Use a spirit level to calibrate and ensure that the probe is vertically downward.
Re select the installation location and avoid the center, inlet and outlet, mixer, and obstacles inside the tank.
Ensure that the conical beam path of the sound wave is unobstructed.
Exceeding the measurement range or entering blind spots
Reason: The actual level is higher than the upper limit of the measurement range or lower than the lower limit of the blind spot.
solve:
Confirm whether the actual level is within the range of the instrument.
Confirm if the low level is higher than the blind spot of the instrument (such as 30cm).
If it exceeds the limit, it is necessary to replace the instrument with a larger range or adjust the installation position.
Poor working environment
Foam: there is a thick foam layer on the liquid surface to absorb sound waves.
Solution: Install a plastic waveguide tube inside the container and place the probe inside the tube for measurement; Or use a radar level gauge instead.
Steam/Mist: A large amount of steam or mist scatters and absorbs sound waves.
Solution: Use an extended pipe (sunken pipe) to isolate steam; Ensure that the temperature at the probe is within the allowable range.
Dust: High concentration dust weakens sound wave signals.
Solution: Regularly clean the surface of the probe; Consider using a radar level gauge.
Severe fluctuation of liquid level: Mixing or feeding causes unstable liquid level.
Solution: Adjust the installation position to avoid disturbance areas; Or switch to instruments with larger ranges (increase signal strength).
The surface of the probe is dirty
Reason: Dust, oil stains, crystals, etc. adhere to the surface of the probe, affecting the emission and reception of sound waves.
Solution: Regularly clean the surface of the probe to keep it clean.
Parameter setting error
Reason: Incorrect parameter settings for "range endpoint", "installation height", "temperature compensation", etc.
solve:
Verify and correctly set instrument parameters.
Check if the temperature display is normal and manually adjust the temperature value if necessary.
