Panasonic NA1-5-PN sensor technology principle

1. Basic types and functions

Type: NA1-5-PN belongs to the proximity sensor category, which is speculated to be inductive or photoelectric (depending on the specific model, inductive is more common in industry).

Function: Used for non-contact detection of metal objects (inductive) or the presence/distance of objects (photoelectric), the output signal is transmitted through PNP transistors (the 'PN' suffix usually represents PNP output) or Profinet (PN) communication (the meaning of the model suffix needs to be confirmed).

2. Working principle

If it is an inductive proximity sensor:

Electromagnetic induction: High frequency current is passed through the internal coil of the sensor, generating an alternating magnetic field. When a metal object approaches, eddy currents are generated in the magnetic field, causing a change in coil impedance.

Signal processing: The built-in circuit detects impedance changes and triggers switch signals (NA1-5 may indicate a detection distance of 1-5mm).

Output: PNP type output high-level signal (commonly used in industry, compatible with PLC input).

If it is a photoelectric sensor:

Light emission and reception: Infrared LED emits light beams that are reflected or obstructed by objects, and the receiver (photosensitive element) detects changes in light intensity.

Modulation technology: Pulse modulation may be used to resist environmental light interference.

Output: PNP switch signal or Profinet communication (depending on the model suffix).

3. Technical features

High precision: The repeated detection accuracy can reach ± 0.1mm (inductive).

Anti interference: Electromagnetic shielding design (suitable for industrial environments).

Durability: Protection level (such as IP67) dustproof and waterproof, resistant to oil stains/vibrations.

Response time: usually<1ms, suitable for high-speed production lines.

4. Communication protocol (such as support for Profinet)

Profinet integration: If the suffix 'PN' represents Profinet, it supports real-time industrial Ethernet communication and achieves:

Remote configuration and diagnosis.

Multi sensor networking, data is directly transmitted to PLC.

5. Typical applications
