Tilt angle sensor is a sensor that measures the change in tilt angle relative to the horizontal plane.
In fact, a tilt sensor is an acceleration sensor that uses the principle of inertia. According to basic physical principles, velocity cannot be measured within a system, but its acceleration can be measured. If the initial velocity is known, the linear velocity can be calculated by integration, and then the linear displacement can be calculated. Therefore, it is actually an accelerometer that uses the principle of inertia.
Tilt angle sensors are used in various applications for measuring angles. For example, high-precision laser instrument leveling, engineering machinery equipment leveling, long-distance ranging instruments, high-altitude platform safety protection, elevation angle measurement of directional satellite communication antennas, ship navigation attitude measurement, shield tunneling application, dam detection, geological equipment tilt monitoring, initial firing angle measurement of cannon barrels, radar vehicle platform detection, satellite communication vehicle attitude detection, and so on.
1. Maritime Geography
Landslides and Avalanches - Dual axis tilt sensors combined with liquid level sensors are used for landslide or avalanche monitoring. The data is transmitted to the central control system through a wireless sensing system to monitor the state of the mountain in real time, which can effectively reduce the losses caused by landslides.
2. Construction Engineering
High rise building safety monitoring - With the increasing number of skyscrapers in the world, high-precision servo tilt sensors can be used to monitor the safety performance of buildings. This series of tilt sensors can sense small angle changes and can be used for monitoring building swing, vibration, tilt, and other aspects.
3. Reservoir dam
Dam safety monitoring - Dam collapse accidents have occurred multiple times. In order to issue warning signals in a timely manner and reduce property losses, various data reflecting changes in the dam and bedrock properties, as well as environmental effects on the dam, are observed and processed in a timely manner through tilt angle sensors, observation instruments and equipment. The purpose is to analyze and estimate the safety level of the dam in order to take timely measures and ensure its safe operation.
4. Excavation machinery
Excavator - In order to achieve three-dimensional spatial positioning of the excavator, on the basis of installing angle sensors for each joint of the working device, a platform rotation angle detection device and a platform tilt angle sensor are also installed, and a laser receiver is installed on the boom to detect the height of the horizontal mechanism emitted by the ground laser emitter relative to the zero position of the receiver. Establish the kinematic model of the excavator, derive the coordinate transformation matrix of the vehicle body relative to the earth, and complete the three-dimensional positioning of the vehicle body. Obtain commonly used simple vehicle body elevation positioning formulas, and achieve the three-dimensional spatial positioning of the excavator excavation trajectory, laying the foundation for achieving accurate three-dimensional spatial trajectory and depth control of the excavator.
5. Modern automobiles
Automobile four-wheel alignment - With the development and application of electronic technology, the safety, comfort, and intelligence of automobiles are becoming increasingly high. The application of lateral tilt angle sensors in automobiles is an effective method to prevent tipping accidents during driving. It is an important measure to improve the safety of automobiles, especially off-road vehicles. Double decker buses and other vehicles with a higher center of gravity are more necessary. The essence of car rollover is that the outward overturning moment during driving is greater than the inward stabilizing moment. When the height of the center of gravity is constant, the tilting moment is determined by the outward lateral force.
6. Robot
Robots - In recent years, robot technology has developed rapidly, and industrialized countries such as Europe and America have long begun systematic research on various robots. With the advancement of technology and the passage of time, a large number of research results have been achieved. We know that robots are equipped with a large number of sensors, among which the tilt sensor can monitor the robot's status in real time.
7. Railway tracks
Track gauge: The current track measurement methods have poor intelligence, low measurement accuracy, and long operation time. There is an urgent need to design a portable intelligent track gauge tilt sensor suitable for general use for track gauges, which can be used to detect the inclination and height difference of railways in real time.
8. Transmission line tower
Intelligent monitoring of transmission line tower tilt - Collapse events of transmission line towers occur from time to time, and once they collapse, it will cause huge losses. Tilt angle sensors are applied to monitor the tilt angle of transmission line towers, which can monitor the tilt angle of transmission lines in real time. Once the tilt angle is too large due to natural disasters such as strong winds, real-time warning signals will be issued, and maintenance by staff will reduce losses.
9. Platform control
Ship borne horizontal platform - Tilt angle sensor is applied on the ship borne horizontal platform, used as the base of the ship borne satellite tracking antenna to maintain the antenna in a horizontal state at all times, and to control the platform in real time. It can isolate the pitch and roll movements of the ship's body and keep the platform horizontal.
10. Solar energy
Solar energy - Solar energy is a clean energy source, and its application is growing widely in the century. Utilizing solar energy to generate electricity is one way to use solar energy. Therefore, in order to obtain sufficient utilization of solar energy, it is important to choose the azimuth and tilt angle of solar cells. By using tilt sensors to adjust the angle, the utilization rate of solar energy can be further improved.
