Installation steps for pressure transmitter
Date: 2018-02-06Read: 11

The innovative design of the pressure transmitter ensures that it can be used reliably in environments with high pressure shocks, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations. The performance of pressure transmitters is reflected in their suitability for various electrical and pressure connections, wide output range, ensuring flexibility and meeting various application needs. Pressure transmitters are applied in fields such as ships, railway locomotives, hydraulic equipment, petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, etc. Pressure transmitters are used in hydraulic and pneumatic control systems; Petrochemical, environmental protection, air compression; Power station operation inspection, locomotive braking system; Thermal power unit; Light industry, mechanical metallurgy; Building automation and constant pressure water supply system; Other automation and detection systems; Industrial process detection and control; Laboratory pressure calibration, etc.

The selection of pressure transmitters requires clear technical parameters:
1. Pressure range: refers to the difference between the minimum and maximum pressure to be measured. Generally, pressure transmitters have 1.5 times the overload capacity.
2. Temperature range for use: lowest use temperature and highest use temperature. Generally, it is -20 to 80 ℃ If the temperature is high, other cooling measures need to be added.
3. The measured medium: The requirements for pressure transmitters vary depending on the type of medium being measured. For example, acid and alkali resistance, ceramic sensors are better. The acid and alkali resistance of the shell.
4. Measurement accuracy: In general usage scenarios, 0.5% accuracy is more common. If measurement is required, a measurement accuracy of 0.2% or 0.1% can be requested.
5. Output signal: What signals can be received by the relevant secondary instrument. Most of them use 4-20mA, but there are also other output signals such as 0-5V, 0-10V, or 0-20mA.
6. Interface size: It is the corresponding installation size processed according to the customer's on-site usage conditions.
Installation steps for pressure transmitter:
Follow the steps below to introduce process pressure into the impulse piping and transmitter:
a. Open the pressure valves on the high and low pressure sides and introduce the process fluid into the pressure measuring section.
b. Slowly open the high-pressure shut-off valve and introduce the process liquid into the pressure measuring section.
c. Close the high-pressure shut-off valve.
d. Slowly open the low-pressure shut-off valve to fill the pressure measuring section with process fluid.
e. Close the low-pressure shut-off valve.
f. Slowly open the high-pressure shut-off valve, at which point the pressure on both sides of the transmitter is equal.
g. Confirm that there are no leaks in the pressure pipe, three-way valve, transmitter, and other components.
The corrosion-resistant ceramic pressure sensor of the pressure transmitter does not transmit liquid, and the pressure directly acts on the front of the ceramic diaphragm, causing slight deformation of the diaphragm. The thick film resistor is printed on the back of the ceramic diaphragm and connected to form a Wheatstone bridge (closed bridge). Due to the piezoresistive effect of the varistor, the bridge generates a highly linear voltage signal proportional to the pressure and the excitation voltage. The standard signal is calibrated as 2.0/3.0/3.3 mV/V according to the different pressure ranges, which can be compatible with strain sensors.
