Application of Siemens gas analyzer
Date: 2020-03-30Read: 8

Siemens gas analyzerIt is a tool used for gas composition analysis and testing, which can obtain data on certain types and contents of components. However, gas analysis instruments are not simple tools. They are not as structurally simple as flow meters and pressure gauges, nor are they as easy to operate and use as various thermal instruments. Siemens gas analyzer is a type of tool with complex structure and difficult technical use. Using gas analysis instruments is a specialized technology that is complex and difficult to master. Generally speaking, the application of Siemens gas analysis instruments is a technical work with a research nature. However, this is not recognized and understood by outsiders.

Analysis of application difficulties of Siemens gas analyzer

The difficulties in the application of Siemens gas analysis instruments can be roughly understood from the following aspects.

1. Gas analysis is the implementation of a series of chemical processes

A gas analyzer or a gas analysis system is equivalent to a complete set of chemical process equipment, therefore, the working process of a gas analysis instrument system is to realize a series of chemical processes. To obtain accurate data through gas analysis, it is necessary to understand the situation and changes in each stage of this series of chemical processes, carefully study and master the rules involved, only in this way can the goal of accurate measurement be achieved. It should be pointed out that not only does a gas analysis instrument have the same conditions and conditions for a chemical process inside, but sometimes the sample gas pretreatment part (including the sampling system) in the front stage of the instrument is also a chemical process. If encountering complex and special process technology conditions, the chemical process reflected in the sample gas pretreatment system is still very complex, equivalent to the purification process of a small chemical plant. From this, it can be seen that the process of gas analysis is based on understanding and mastering the conditions of the entire chemical process system, strictly controlling various factors that affect the measurement conditions, in order to obtain accurate data required by process and management personnel.

2Siemens gas analyzerIt is difficult to control influencing factors and eliminate interfering factors during the application process

In the process of instrument application, there are many types of influencing factors with complex changes, and it is difficult to effectively control these influencing factors and eliminate factors that interfere with the measurement. For example, in the determination of trace oxygen, not only must the system material and sealing be strictly controlled, but many factors such as system cleanliness must also be addressed one by one, otherwise, oxygen composition analysis will not obtain accurate measurement results. For the determination of trace water content in gases, in addition to considering the various influencing factors mentioned above, it is also necessary to consider the adsorption equilibrium of water in the sample gas in the pipeline. The proper handling of this problem must rely on repeated experiments, understanding its changes and patterns, mastering the operational techniques involved, in order to obtain accurate and error free results. Of course, the factors that need to be considered and controlled when using gas chromatography to determine the content of impurities at the ppm ppb level in high-purity gases are even more complex.

3. The influencing factors of Siemens gas analyzer are more complex

The microscopic changes that occur when gas components flow in pipelines and equipment are complex and varied. There are many factors that can be ignored in constant gas composition analysis, but in trace gas composition analysis, they cannot be ignored and must be taken seriously. At this point, these factors have become the main contradictions affecting the correct results of trace gas composition analysis, and must be eliminated and resolved one by one in order to ensure the smooth completion of trace gas analysis instruments. These influencing factors mainly include the following aspects: ① repeated mixing of gas in the sampling pipeline; ② The physical and chemical interactions between the pipe wall and gas components; ③ Pipeline material; ④ Pipeline connection method; ⑤ Cleanliness level of pipelines.

4. Siemens gas analyzer and method validation are key to obtaining accurate data

As a measuring and testing tool, instruments provide mostly relative values of data under normal operation. The accuracy and precision of the measured data cannot be provided or confirmed by the instruments themselves. It must rely on peripheral technical work to complete, which is the verification work of analyzing data.

(1) Verification of linear relationship of instruments. Firstly, to ensure the normal operation of the instrument, analytical instruments, as a type of measuring instrument, must undergo annual testing by the metrology department in accordance with established regulations before they can be licensed for use. At the same time, it is necessary to use a series of standard gases to check whether the linear relationship of the instrument remains normal throughout the entire linear range every year. Otherwise, blindly believing in the integrity of analytical instruments will definitely lead to errors in production and quality management due to incorrect data.

(2) Error analysis. In the application process of analytical instruments, error analysis must be conducted for each measurement result to determine the authenticity, reliability, and credibility of the data analysis. A qualified analyst should not and should not casually report or disclose the results of each analysis or measurement. Generally, after obtaining the measurement results and conducting error analysis, when it is determined that the total error of the analyzed data is less than the specified allowable error, this data (or a group of data) is considered as the correct measurement result and reported or published. Otherwise, inaccurate data will bring serious adverse consequences to production managers.

(3) Calibration of commonly used instruments for quantitative analysis. As a quantitative analysis instrument, gas analyzer must be calibrated (or calibrated) with standard gas before conducting quantitative analysis. Standard gas is generally purchased from metrology departments or legitimate factories, and in special circumstances, it can also be configured by oneself (but must have the qualifications and capabilities to configure standard gas and related equipment). The shelf life of standard gas is one year. When using standard gas calibration analytical instruments, it is also necessary to have a deep understanding of the normal procedures and usage rules. If purchasing and using standard gases that do not meet the requirements, it can lead to significant deviations in the analysis data. If the requirements for the use of standard gas are not well understood, it can also cause trouble for air separation production due to the lack of accurate data results.

5. Analytical engineers need to continuously improve and enhance their analytical testing techniques

A qualified analytical engineer needs to constantly learn and research new technologies in analytical instruments and instrument analysis, and apply them to their job in a timely manner to achieve the goal of continuously improving and enhancing analytical and detection techniques. An analytical engineer should not only be able to apply existing equipment as well as possible, but also absorb foreign and analytical technologies at any time based on a deep understanding of the principles, structures, and performance of the instruments used today, continuously innovate technology, further improve and enhance the detection level of existing instruments, rather than just being satisfied with simple operations.

In short,Siemens gas analyzerIt is a specialized and research-oriented work that determines the effectiveness and level of gas analysis instrument applications. Trace gas analysis technology is also a practical science that requires extensive experimental practice to explore its regularities, master it well, and successfully solve various specific trace gas analysis problems.
