The working principle and design characteristics of corrosion-resistant pressure transmitters
Date: 2025-06-15Read: 9
Corrosion resistant pressure transmitter is a pressure measuring instrument with strong corrosion resistance, which can work stably in harsh environments. This type of pressure transmitter uses special materials and designs to resist corrosion of its sensing elements and housing by media such as acid, alkali, salt, and gas. They are often used for pressure measurement of highly corrosive liquids or gases to ensure the accuracy of measurement results and the long-term reliability of the instrument.
The working principle of corrosion-resistant pressure transmitters is basically the same as that of ordinary pressure transmitters, mainly relying on pressure sensors to convert pressure signals into electrical signals. The core component of a pressure transmitter is the sensor, which typically consists of strain gauges, sensing diaphragms, pressure chambers, and other internal structures. Under pressure, the sensing diaphragm undergoes deformation and is converted into an electrical signal through the resistance change of the strain gauge. After being processed by the circuit of the transmitter, this electrical signal outputs a voltage or current signal proportional to the pressure.

  Corrosion resistant pressure transmitterDesign features:
1. Highly corrosion-resistant materials
-Stainless steel: Stainless steel material has good corrosion resistance and is commonly used in general acidic and alkaline corrosion environments.
-Hastelloy: Hastelloy is a corrosion-resistant material composed of elements such as nickel, chromium, molybdenum, etc. It has strong acid and alkali corrosion resistance and is commonly used in the chemical industry.
-Titanium alloy: Titanium alloy is a lightweight, high-strength material with excellent corrosion resistance, suitable for fields such as marine, chemical, and biological applications.
-Plastic coating: For some less corrosive applications, the housing of the pressure transmitter can be coated with plastic to improve its corrosion resistance.
2. Sealing design
Usually, a more tightly sealed design is used to prevent corrosive media from leaking or invading the inside of the transmitter. Common sealing materials include fluororubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. These materials have good high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, which can ensure the safe use of transmitters in harsh environments.
3. Protection level
Due to the harsh working environment of pressure transmitters, the protection level of the equipment is usually high. Common protection levels include IP65, IP67, etc., which can effectively prevent dust and moisture from entering the equipment, further extending its service life.
4. Temperature and pressure compensation
The pressure changes in high temperature and high pressure environments may affect the performance of sensors. Therefore, temperature compensation and pressure compensation functions are usually added to ensure that accurate pressure measurement data can still be provided even under large temperature and pressure changes.
