Common problems with small ultra-high temperature sterilizers: What should be done if the temperature does not meet the standard and the flow rate is unstable?
Date: 2025-11-12Read: 11

In the modern food industry, small ultra-high temperature sterilizers are widely used for sterilizing liquid foods such as milk, juice, etc. It effectively kills harmful microorganisms by heating the liquid to a very high temperature (usually above 135 ° C) and then rapidly cooling it, while maintaining the nutritional value and taste of the food. However, in practical use, operators often encounter some problems, the most common of which are temperature non-compliance and unstable flow rate. These two major issues not only affect the sterilization effect, but may also have an impact on product quality and production efficiency. Therefore, timely resolution of these issues is crucial.

1、 The temperature does not meet the standard
1. Temperature control system malfunction
The core function of a small ultra-high temperature sterilization machine is the heating system, and the normal operation of the temperature control system directly determines whether the product can reach the required sterilization temperature. If the temperature control system malfunctions, it may result in the temperature not reaching the preset standard. Common faults include temperature sensor failure, controller failure, heating tube failure, etc.
resolvent:
-Check if the temperature sensor is damaged or aged, and replace the sensor if necessary.
-Check the settings of temperature control instruments and controllers to ensure that there are no misoperations or incorrect settings.
-Regularly clean and inspect the heating tube to avoid scaling or contamination that may affect the heating effect.
2. Heating system issues
If the heating tube, heater, or heat exchanger malfunctions, it can also cause the temperature to not meet the standard. The cleanliness of the heat exchanger and the aging of the heating element can both affect the rate and stability of temperature rise.
resolvent:
-Regularly clean the equipment, especially the heat exchanger section, to ensure that there are no foreign objects or deposits.
-Check if the heating element is intact, and replace it promptly if aging or damage is found.
3. The feed temperature is too low
If the feed temperature of the raw materials is low, it may affect the equipment to reach the preset sterilization temperature. This is particularly common in colder seasons in production environments, especially for large-scale production.
resolvent:
-Ensure that the temperature of the raw materials meets the equipment design requirements. If the raw material temperature is too low, pre-treatment can be carried out through a preheating system.
-Temperature control the equipment feeding system to prevent the raw materials from cooling down before entering the sterilizer.
2、 Unstable traffic
1. Pump malfunction
One of the most common reasons for unstable flow is pump failure. The pump is a key component in the ultra-high temperature sterilization machine, responsible for delivering liquid into the heating system. If there are problems with the pump, such as bearing wear, pump body leakage or blockage, it can lead to unstable flow.
resolvent:
-Regularly check the operation of the pump, including the motor, bearings, seals, and other parts, to ensure that there is no wear or water leakage.
-Clean up blockages inside the pump, regularly inspect and replace aging sealing rings.
-Check the flow control device of the pump to ensure that the regulating valve and control system are working properly.
2. Pipeline blockage or leakage
Impurities such as dirt, sediment, or bubbles in pipelines can cause unstable flow. If there is a leak or blockage in the pipeline, it will also affect the normal flow of the system.
resolvent:
-Regularly clean the pipeline to ensure there is no sediment, dirt, or air retention.
-Check the connection part of the pipeline to ensure there is no looseness or leakage.
-Check the flow sensor to ensure its accurate operation and prevent inaccurate flow adjustment due to measurement errors.
3. Improper system adjustment
If the flow control system (such as regulating valves, flow meters, etc.) is not set correctly, it can also lead to unstable flow. Malfunctions or improper operation of the regulation system can have an impact on the sterilization process.
resolvent:
-Regularly inspect regulating valves, flow meters, and other regulating equipment to ensure their proper functioning.
-Ensure that operators accurately adjust the flow rate according to production needs, avoiding excessive adjustments or misoperations.
4. Defects in the design of the sterilization machine
If the design of the device is not reasonable, it may also lead to unstable traffic. For example, if the pipeline design is unreasonable, resulting in too fast or too slow flow, or if the design of the heat exchange system cannot heat evenly, leading to flow fluctuations.
resolvent:
-When selecting equipment, fully understand its performance parameters to ensure that the equipment design meets production requirements.
-Regular maintenance and optimization of equipment, especially during high-intensity production seasons.
