① Valve orientation and straight pipe length. Generally speaking, the vortex flowmeter is installed upstream of the valve
If using a piston or Roots blower compressor gas pipeline or a plunger pump high-pressure liquid pipeline (about 1MPa), the fluid is prone to oscillation. At this moment, the valve device should be installed upstream of the flowmeter, preferably with a liquid damper installed upstream of the flowmeter; We should consider installing storage tanks upstream of flow meters to reduce fluid oscillations.
② When there are necking, expanding, and bending pipes, reasonable upper and lower straight pipe sections should be configured, as shown in Figure 3. If there is a bending joint in the pipeline, the flowmeter and vortex generator should be in the same plane as the bending joint.
Select reasonable piping
The inner diameter of the piping should be slightly larger than that of the vortex flowmeter. For example, if the inner diameter of the flowmeter is 39.7, the inner diameter of the piping should be between 40 and 42. For flow meters of 0.5-2 inches, pipes with serial numbers below 40 should be used, and for flow meters of 3-8 inches, pipes with serial numbers below 80 should be used. Other than that, the appearance of pipeline closure should be avoided.
Pressure measuring and temperature measuring points
When pressure measurement is required, set the pressure measurement point at a location 3.5D to 7.5D downstream of the vortex generator.
When temperature measurement is required, set the temperature measurement point 1D to 2D downstream of the pressure measurement point.

a. When planning the installation pipeline of a flowmeter, a bypass pipeline should be planned to facilitate disassembly, repair, and commissioning. Newly installed or repaired pipelines should be cleaned of rust, scale residue, and sludge before operation. If there is no bypass pipe, a short pipe can be temporarily installed to replace the flowmeter.
b. In the device clamping type vortex flowmeter, it is very important to adhere to both the flowmeter and the pipeline base. If the device is biased, the waveform observed by the oscilloscope will have abnormal symptoms, which will affect the measurement accuracy. In addition, it is necessary to avoid the sealing gasket from entering the inner diameter of the pipeline, otherwise it will cause significant measurement errors. Therefore, in general, the aperture of the sealing gasket should be 2mm larger than the inner diameter of the flowmeter and made into a sealing gasket with bolt holes.
