General knowledge of fan installation and use

1、 Installation and use of fans

1. Before installation, a comprehensive inspection of all components of the fan should be conducted. Whether the components are complete, whether the rotation direction of the impeller and the casing is consistent, whether the connections of each part are tight, whether the main components such as the impeller, main shaft, bearings are damaged, and whether the transmission group is flexible, etc. If any problems are found, they should be repaired and adjusted immediately.

2. During installation, pay attention to checking the casing. There should be no tools or debris that fall into the casing. In order to prevent rust and reduce disassembly difficulties, some lubricating grease or mechanical oil should be applied to some joint surfaces. The joint surface between the fan and the foundation, as well as the connection of the inlet and outlet air ducts, should be adjusted to fit naturally. Forced connection is not allowed, and the weight of the ducts should not be added to the various components of the fan. Attention should be paid to ensuring the horizontal position of the fan.

3. Installation requirements:

(1) Install according to the position and dimensions shown on the drawing. To achieve high efficiency, it is particularly important to ensure the gap size between the air inlet and the impeller.

(2) For V-belt transmission, the grooves corresponding to the spindle V-belt pulley and motor V-belt pulley should not be misaligned. After covering with tape, a safety cover (self-made by the user) should be installed for safety

(3) For coupling transmission, the eccentricity between the main shaft of the fan and the motor shaft, as well as the non parallelism at both ends of the coupling, shall not exceed 0.05mm.

(4) When installing the regulating valve, be careful not to install it in reverse and ensure that the intake direction is consistent with the rotation direction of the impeller.

(5) After installation, try to rotate the transmission group and check for any tightness or collision with the fixed parts. Any deficiencies found must be adjusted properly.

4. Trial operation of the fan:

After all installations are completed and the overall inspection is qualified, trial operation can be carried out. In order to prevent the motor from burning out due to overload, it is necessary to start and test run the fan with no load (closing the gate or regulating valve in the inlet duct). If the situation is good, gradually open the flue or regulating valve for continuous operation test under full load normal operating conditions (specified full pressure and flow). The trial operation time for newly installed equipment shall not be less than 2 hours, and the trial operation time for repair and installation shall not be less than half an hour. If no abnormal phenomena occur, it can be officially used. The power selected for the induced draft fan refers to the power consumption and reserve capacity of the self cooling air tray under specific operating conditions, plus mechanical losses. It is not the power that the fan is equipped with when the air damper is fully open. Therefore, when using, do not fully open the air damper (except for pipeline resistance). During operation, the current should be strictly controlled and should not exceed the rated value of the motor, otherwise it will burn out the motor.

2、 Maintenance of fan

In order to ensure the normal operation and performance of the fan, it is necessary to strengthen the maintenance of the fan.

1. Regularly clean the dust and dirt inside the fan, especially at the blades, according to the specific usage situation, and prevent rusting.

2. The lubricating oil inside the bearing box should be replaced every six months under normal circumstances, except during machine maintenance.

3. Regularly check whether the bearing temperature is normal during operation, and the temperature rise of the bearing should be less than 40 ℃.

4. If any abnormal situation is found during the driving, parking, or operation of the fan, it should be repaired immediately.

5. To ensure personal safety, maintenance of the fan must be carried out during parking.

3、 Reasons for malfunctions during fan operation

1. Severe vibration of the fan:

(1) Friction between the casing or air inlet and the impeller;

(2) The stiffness of the foundation is insufficient or not firm enough;

(3) Loose rivets on the impeller or deformation of the shaft disc;

(4) The impeller shaft and shaft are loose;

(5) Loose connecting bolts between the casing and bracket, bearing seat and bracket, bearing seat and bearing cover, etc;

(6) Resonance caused by poor installation of the fan outlet pipeline;

(7) Dust and dirt accumulate on the blades, causing imbalance in the rotor;

(8) Blade wear and impeller deformation;

(9) For direct coupling transmission, the fan shaft and motor shaft are not concentric, the coupling is skewed, and the coupling bolts are loose. The belt drive is caused by misalignment of the pulley groove.

2. Bearing temperature rise too high:

(1) Loose bolts of the air-cooled plate may cause failure of self cooling or excessive accumulation of dust and dirt on the air-cooled plate, which needs to be removed;

(2) The bearing seat vibrates violently;

(3) Poor quality of lubricating grease, deterioration or excessive filling, or impurities such as dust, sticky sand, dirt, etc;

(4) The tightening force of the connecting bolts of the bearing cover is too high or too low;

(5) The installation of the shaft and rolling bearings is skewed, and the front and rear shafts are not concentric;

(6) Bending of the shaft or damage to the rolling bearings.

3. Excessive motor current or high temperature rise:

(1) The air intake (exhaust) valve is not tightly closed while driving;

(2) Flow exceeding the specified value or air duct leakage;

(3) The gas density conveyed by the fan is too high or the temperature is too low, resulting in excessive pressure;

(4) The spindle speed exceeds the rated value;

(5) The input voltage of the motor is too low or there is a single-phase power outage;

(6) Affected by the deterioration of the working condition of parallel fans;

(7) The coupling connection is not correct, the rubber ring is too tight or the gap is uneven;

(8) Affected by severe vibration of the bearing seat.

4. Corner belt sliding down: The positions of the two triangular belt groove wheels are not on the same centerline as each other

5. Corner belt too loose: The corner belt is worn and stretched, causing the corner belt to be too loose. The center belt lengths of the two triangular pulleys are not proportional. The distance between the motor and the spindle on the motor slide should be adjusted.
