Portable concrete array GPR, capable of rapid object detection anddata collection
As many highway bridges in our country gradually enter the maintenance and repair stage, many inspection companies have begun to search for efficient and effective inspection tools on the market to help detect the quality of these infrastructure and provide reliable basis for the maintenance and repair of structures.
Recently, we were invited by a testing unit in Fujian to conduct a detection test on the internal corrugated pipe position of an abandoned prefabricated bridge structure, in order to compare the performance of several different radar products from our company.
Web area detection

The staff used three different structural radars, GP8000, GP8800, and GP8100, to inspect the web area. Because the steel bars in the web area are not dense, we set the background (noise) removal depth to 12, which makes the image of the corrugated pipe more prominent.

From the above, it can be seen that the web corrugated pipes detected by the three structural radars are all very obvious and have good results.
End area detection

In the complex end area, the staff used the structural radar GP8100 to perform linear scanning along the direction of the arrow in the figure. This structural radar has 6 channels and an effective scanning width of 25 cm, resulting in clearer detection results. The overall outline of a corrugated pipe in the end area and the approximate outlines of several other corrugated pipes can be seen from the video below.

Subsequently, the staff conducted another area scan of the area using GP8100. For ease of operation, automatic gain mode was adopted, and the required background removal depth was set to 0 (excessive background removal depth will affect the detection effect of the corrugated tube), obtaining clear burial depth and direction for all corrugated tubes (three corrugated tubes, burial depth between 24 cm-27 cm).

By using the augmented reality feature of GP8100, the quickly detected position of the sleeve is mapped onto the surface of the box girder (as shown in the figure below). Based on the results of augmented reality, customers can intuitively draw the arrangement of sleeves and steel bars.
