How to deal with the smoke and odor generated by cutting PVC and plastic
Date: 2025-12-09Read: 11

Laser marking, engraving, and welding operations generate a large amount of smoke, which contains toxic and harmful components such as metal particles, tin, lead, and rosin acid. When laser cutting and carving fabrics (such as felt, plush, nylon, etc.), leather, wooden boards (wood products, MDF, plywood, etc.), acrylic (organic glass), rubber sheets (plastic), two-color boards, metals, etc., a large amount of smoke particles and various harmful chemical odors will be generated. If they are not purified and discharged into the air, the smoke particles and harmful compound odors will float in the air and be inhaled by employees, which will seriously threaten their physical health and affect the quality of life of surrounding residents. Therefore, these harmful gases must be effectively purified before being discharged into the air.

There have been purifiers for acrylic cutting for a long time, but they are usually filtered with activated carbon. Activated carbon filtered purifiers usually need to replace activated carbon every once in a while, which not only has high usage costs but also causes secondary pollution, which is recognized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The newly released purifier uses the principle of photochemistry, does not require any consumables, only consumes electricity, and the power consumption is not high, which is also recognized for environmental protection.
