YOUNG05103 Wind Monitoring InstrumentMeasure horizontal wind speed and direction.Originally developed for use with ocean data buoys, it is sturdy, durable, and corrosion-resistant, but accurate and lightweight.The four bladed propeller used for measuring wind speed generates AC sine wave signals during rotation.The wind direction is determined by the blades connected to the precision potentiometer inside the internal casing.The sensor structure uses UV stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum components.Precision grade stainless steel ball bearings are equipped with light contact PTFE seals and wide temperature lubricating grease to help eliminate contamination.The sensor is installed on a standard 1-inch IPS tube.Including an installation positioning ring that engages with the base of the sensor to maintain orientation when removing the sensor for maintenance.

Wind Monitor also provides 0-5 VDC output,Model 05103VOr 4-20 mA output,Model 05103LThe scaling ratios for the two models are 0-100 m/s and 0-360 °.05103L is recommended for installation in high noise areas or long cables, typically 300 meters (1000 feet) or longer, with a maximum length of several kilometers.
