The ultrasonic transducer of the ultrasonic level gauge, driven by the control circuit, emits high-frequency ultrasonic pulses to the surface of the measured medium, with a frequency range typically from 20kHz to 200kHz. Ultrasonic waves propagate at a constant speed in gas. When they come into contact with the surface of the measured medium, due to differences in acoustic impedance, some of the ultrasonic energy is reflected to form echoes. The transducer receives the echo and converts it into an electrical signal. The internal signal processing unit measures the time difference between transmission and reception, calculates the distance from the probe to the surface of the medium based on the sound velocity, and then calculates the actual liquid level height based on the preset probe installation height.
The ultrasonic level gauge mainly consists of three parts: ultrasonic transducer (probe), driving circuit (module), and electronic LCD display module. The transducer is responsible for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals, the driving circuit controls the operation of the transducer and processes the signals, and the display module is used to display the liquid level measurement results.
Core strengthsIt has the characteristics of non-contact measurement, which can avoid the damage of medium corrosion, adhesion, and blockage to the instrument, and is suitable for liquid level measurement of highly corrosive and high viscosity media. Its range coverage is wide, with a conventional range of 0.1m-30m, and some industrial grade products can reach 50m. It has high installation flexibility and supports top or side installation of containers. Most products support standard communication interfaces such as 4-20mA and RS485, which can be integrated with automation systems to achieve remote monitoring and have functions such as high and low liquid level alarms.
Main limitationsStrong environmental sensitivity, dust, mist, steam or strong airflow in the air can cause attenuation or reflection disorder of ultrasonic signals, reducing measurement accuracy. There is a measurement blind spot, usually ranging from 0.1m to 0.5m. In addition, it cannot work in a vacuum environment and is not suitable for scenarios such as frequent changes in propagation media, high temperature and high pressure.
Note: Due to differences in instrument configuration and functionality, the reference price may deviate significantly from the actual price. For selection pricing and delivery time, please consult our sales consultant by phone. Thank you!
