Case study of volatile organic compound monitoring project in the park
sinceSince the implementation of the "Ten Measures for Air Quality", the national air quality has been significantly improved, but the concentrations of particulate matter, ozone, and other pollutants have exceeded the standard from time to time. Therefore, as an important precursor to the formation of ozone (O3) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) need to be strictly controlled and treated from the source.
As an important source of volatile organic compound pollutants, parks covering numerous gas related enterprises need to strengthen monitoring of volatile organic compounds, strictly control their emissions, and comprehensively carry out prevention and control work.
To achieve green, safe, and sustainable development of the park, effectively prevent and control environmental risks, ensure the quality of the park and surrounding environment and human health, fully utilize the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, remote sensing
"Internet" and other information technologies help the environmental management department of the park to achieve:
Faster perception of monitoring indicators affecting the park environment, clarifying the environmental quality status;
More comprehensive understanding of the process and trends of environmental pollution, and prevention of environmental risks;
Improving environmental management, pollution supervision capabilities, and service levels more effectively;
Smarter decision-making focuses on major environmental issues in key regions and watersheds.
The contribution of VOCs in XX Park mainly comes from the energy and chemical industry, accounting for 98.61%, followed by other industries, accounting for 1.30%. The production of VOCs in the automotive machinery industry and other industries is very small. To assist in the environmental quality supervision and monitoring of XX Park, our company adheres to the principles of practicality and openness, and reasonably designs and plans the construction of an environmental monitoring and traceability system in the core area of the park. We have basically improved the construction of the system's software, hardware, and related supporting facilities in the core area of the park, and gradually applied them. On the basis of the existing regulatory monitoring facilities in the park, we will build volatile organic compound monitoring equipment, collect data sets from the original regulatory monitoring facilities, and upload them to the volatile organic compound system platform for real-time monitoring and timely determination of pollution sources, effectively improving the park environment and providing a foundation for further expanding the application capabilities of the environmental monitoring system.
The implementation of the project has achieved:
1) Fully grasp the concentration changes of volatile organic compounds in the park, timely analyze the reasons for the changes, trace the sources of pollution, predict development trends, and provide decision-making basis for environmental protection and safety management in the park;
2) Discover pollution phenomena in a timely manner, activate emergency warning plans in a timely manner, and reduce the "pollution rate" toZLow, effectively preventing various environmental pollution risks in the park;
3) Based on the monitoring data of volatile organic compounds, trace and trace the responsible enterprises.
