Real time protection of blue sky: analysis of core technology for pollutant monitoring in micro air stations
Date: 2025-12-15Read: 9
In the refined management system of air pollution prevention and control,Micro air stationWith its advantages of flexible deployment, rapid response, and real-time data, it has become an important supplement to regional environmental monitoring. It can accurately capture PM ₂ The concentration changes of key pollutants such as ₅, PM ₁₀, and SO ₂ provide data support for pollution traceability and emergency response. The implementation of this capability stems from its integration of multiple targeted core monitoring technologies, each designed for the characteristics of specific pollutants, jointly building an efficient and accurate atmospheric monitoring network.
Regarding PM ₂ Micro air stations mainly use "light scattering method" or "beta ray absorption method" to achieve real-time monitoring of particulate pollutants such as PM and other pollutants. The core principle of light scattering method is to use a specific wavelength of laser to irradiate particles in the air. The particles will scatter the laser, and the intensity of the scattered light is proportional to the concentration and particle size distribution of the particles. The system captures scattered light signals through a high-sensitivity detector and calculates the particle concentration value through algorithm conversion. This technology has a fast response speed (second level output data), no consumables, and is suitable for the miniaturization needs of micro devices. For scenarios with higher precision requirements, the β - ray absorption rule is more applicable. It emits low-energy β - rays through the sampling filter membrane, and the deposition of particles on the filter membrane will cause a decrease in β - ray intensity. Based on the corresponding relationship between attenuation and particle mass, the concentration can be accurately calculated, effectively avoiding the interference of humidity and temperature on monitoring results.

The monitoring of gaseous pollutants such as SO ₂ mainly relies on the "electrochemical sensor method" or "ultraviolet differential absorption spectroscopy method". Electrochemical sensor method is a commonly used technology for micro air stations, which involves introducing SO ₂ gas molecules into the electrochemical reaction cell inside the sensor. SO ₂ undergoes redox reactions on the electrode surface, generating a current signal proportional to the concentration of pollutants. The concentration of SO ₂ can be converted by detecting the current intensity. This technology has a small size, controllable cost, and can meet the needs of multi-point deployment. The response time is usually within 10 seconds, and it can timely reflect fluctuations in pollutant concentration. The UV differential absorption spectroscopy method is suitable for high-precision, multi-component simultaneous monitoring scenarios. By utilizing the characteristic absorption characteristics of SO ₂ for specific wavelengths of ultraviolet light, and analyzing the spectral changes of ultraviolet light passing through air, combined with Lambert Beer's law, the concentration of SO ₂ can be accurately calculated. At the same time, it can also simultaneously monitor various gaseous pollutants such as NO ₂ and O3.
In addition to monitoring technology for specific pollutants, micro air stations also rely on "data fusion and compensation technology" to ensure monitoring accuracy. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and air pressure in the atmospheric environment can interfere with monitoring results. For example, high humidity can cause particulate matter to absorb moisture and increase weight, affecting the measurement values of light scattering methods. The system collects environmental parameters in real-time through built-in temperature, humidity, and air pressure sensors, and uses preset compensation algorithms to correct monitoring data to ensure accuracy under different meteorological conditions. At the same time, some devices also have automatic calibration function, regularly calibrating sensors through standard gases or calibration modules to avoid performance drift caused by long-term use.
The integration and application of these core technologies have enabled micro air stations to achieve the unity of "miniaturization" and "high precision". Around the industrial park, it can monitor in real-time the impact of enterprise emissions on the surrounding environment; In residential areas, it can accurately reflect the impact of air quality on people's livelihoods; In pollution emergency scenarios, it is possible to quickly construct a pollution diffusion trend chart. With the continuous upgrading of technology, the monitoring accuracy and stability of micro air stations continue to improve, gradually becoming the "environmental sentinel" in the refined management of air pollution prevention and control, providing more accurate and efficient technical support for safeguarding the blue sky.
