Vickers hardness test is mainly used for data research and scientific experiments. Small load Vickers hardness test is mainly used to test the hardness of small and fine parts, the hardness of the outer hardening layer and the depth of the useful hardening layer, the outer hardness of the coating, the hardness of thin sheet and fine wire materials, the hardness near the blade, the hardness of dental materials, etc. Because the experimental force is small and the indentation is also small, the appearance and performance of the sample can be unaffected.

The micro Vickers hardness test is primarily used for research in metallurgy and metallography. Used to determine the hardness of various constituent phases in metal arrangements, and to study the brittleness of refractory compounds. The micro Vickers hardness test is also used for testing extremely small or thin parts, with part thicknesses as thin as 3 μ m. Vickers hardness testers are used for measuring thinner Vickers hardness values.
Select a regular tetrahedral diamond indenter, use a photochemical reaction apparatus to press the sample surface under experimental force, adhere to the regular time, remove the experimental force, and measure the diagonal length of the indentation on the sample surface. The indentation of the Vickers hardness tester experiment is square, with clear summary and accurate diagonal measurement. Therefore, the Vickers hardness test has the highest accuracy among commonly used hardness testing methods, and its repeatability is also very good, which is superior to Brinell hardness.
The Vickers hardness tester has a large measurement scale and can measure almost all metal data used in industry today, from very soft data (a few Vickers hardness units) to very hard data (3000 Vickers hardness units). The biggest advantage of Vickers hardness tester experiments is that their hardness values are independent of the size of the experimental force. As long as the hardness is uniform, the experimental force can be freely selected, and the hardness value remains unchanged.
This is equivalent to having a consistent scale across a wide range of hardness scales. This is even better than the Rockwell hardness test. Within the range of medium and low hardness values, on the same uniform data, the results of Vickers hardness test and Brinell hardness test will obtain approximate hardness values. The experimental force of the Vickers hardness tester can be as small as 10gF, and the indentation is very small, making it particularly suitable for testing thin and small data.
