Vaisala DM70 Dew Point Meter Operation Manual
Date: 2023-01-05Read: 7

The Visa handheld dew point meter DM70 can provide wide range accurate dew point measurement. The probe of DM70 can be directly inserted into the pressure pipeline and quickly converted from the external environment to the measurement environment. At the same time, the sensor also has anti condensation and self recovery functions from excessively humid environments. The DM70 dew point meter can directly measure dew point over a wide range of temperatures and pressures.

All three types of probes have automatic calibration function. Both Type A and Type B can be used for general applications. The C-type is designed specifically for measuring the dew point of SF6 gas. The B-type and C-type probes are equipped with sensor clearing functions. By heating and drying the sensors, the sensor clearing function accelerates the response speed from the external environment to the dry environment, providing convenience for rapid on-site dew point detection.

The Vaisala DM70 mainly consists of two sets of devices: the MI70 display head and the DMP74 probe (versions A, B, C). DM70 can be equipped with a sampler to measure industrial dew point. After being paired with DSS70A, DM70 can be used to form a complete portable sampling system for measuring industrial dew point.

Dew point measurement - When measuring in extremely dry environments, the following recommendations should be considered.

Regardless of the situation, it is best to measure humidity in a clean environment. -Try to reduce the number of joints as much as possible to minimize leakage.

2. The flow rate must be sufficient.

3. Blind ends are difficult to rinse and must be avoided.

4. The temperature of the conduit must not be lower than the dew point of the gas sample. Otherwise, it will cause condensation and lead to incorrect results.

5. Sampling connections should be as short as possible. When flow conditions permit, the connecting pipe should be as thin and narrow as possible to reduce surface area.

6. Do not neglect the surface treatment of the piping system. It is recommended to use polished or electrolytic polished steel for optimal results.

7. Water absorbing materials should be avoided in sampling pipelines. Please use stainless steel membrane instead of rubber membrane.

8. Non permeable materials should be selected to prevent moisture from seeping through the sampling tube and casing. High grade stainless steel and metal are both non permeable materials of this type. Do not use PVC or nylon pipes.
