The automobile rain test laboratory is a crucial testing link in the automobile production process. It simulates a natural rainfall environment and conducts comprehensive rain tests on the vehicle to ensure that its waterproof performance meets standards. The following will provide a detailed introduction to the workflow of the automotive rain testing laboratory.
1、 Preparation before the experiment
Before the experiment begins, the staff need to carefully inspect all equipment in the laboratory, including the sprinkler system, air source system, water circulation system, and vehicle fixing devices, to ensure their normal operation. At the same time, according to the model and testing requirements of the tested vehicle, adjust the spray angle, spray pressure, spray flow rate, and wind speed parameters of the sprinkler system to simulate rainfall environments of different intensities and directions. In addition, a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle is required to record its initial condition, such as the sealing of doors, windows, sunroof, and other parts.
2、 Vehicle fixation and positioning
Drive the test vehicle smoothly into the laboratory and securely fix it with a vehicle fixing device to prevent the vehicle from moving during the test process. Then, according to the test requirements, adjust the position and angle of the vehicle to ensure that all parts of the vehicle are evenly sprayed. For example, for some specially designed vehicles, it may be necessary to adjust their tilt angle to simulate the vehicle's rain on a slope.
3、 Rain test process
Activate the sprinkler system and air source system, and spray according to the preset parameters. During the experiment, the staff need to closely observe various parts of the vehicle and check for any water leakage. Focus on sealing areas such as car doors, windows, sunroofs, and trunk lids, as well as areas such as the engine compartment and chassis that are prone to water accumulation. At the same time, record various data during the experiment, such as spray time, spray pressure, wind speed, vehicle water leakage, etc. If a vehicle is found to have water leakage, the location and extent of the leakage should be recorded in a timely manner, and photos should be taken for record keeping.
4、 Post experimental processing
After the experiment is completed, turn off the sprinkler system and air source system, and let the vehicle sit in the test room for a period of time to observe whether there is any subsequent water leakage. Then, drive the vehicle out of the laboratory for a comprehensive inspection and cleaning. Check whether the electrical system and interior of the vehicle are affected by rain, and clean the accumulated water and dirt on the surface of the vehicle. Finally, based on the test records and observation results, evaluate the waterproof performance of the vehicle and issue a test report.

The car rain test laboratory provides important guarantees for the quality inspection of cars through rigorous work processes, ensuring that every car leaving the factory has good waterproof performance.
