Principles and requirements for flushing of blowing devices

  purging deviceBefore starting work, it is necessary to blow and clean the pipelines and equipment that have been installed and inspected as qualified. The purpose is to use fluids such as air (nitrogen), steam, water, and chemical solutions for blowing and flushing, to remove residual impurities during the construction process, and to ensure the smooth operation of the blowing device. There are usually several methods, such as water flushing, air (nitrogen) blowing, and oil cleaning.

Principles and requirements for flushing the blowing device:
1. The water flushing pipeline should be carried out at the maximum flow rate that can be achieved inside the pipeline or a flow velocity of not less than 1.5m/s, with the flow direction from high to low.
2. The water quality for flushing should meet the material requirements for flushing pipelines and equipment. The turbidity of general equipment and pipeline flushing is usually less than 10mg/L, and the chloride ion content is less than 100ppm.
3. The flushing should be carried out in sequence using a segmented continuous flushing method, and the cross-sectional area of the discharge port should not be less than 60% of the cross-sectional area of the pipe being flushed. The discharge pipeline should be unobstructed and safe. Only after the upstream flushing port is flushed and qualified can the subsequent system be flushed.
4. When pipelines and equipment are connected, blind plates must be added at the inlet and outlet of the equipment during flushing. Only after the pipeline is flushed and qualified can it be connected.
5. When flushing pipelines with water, it is necessary to confirm that pipe supports, hangers, etc. can withstand the load safely when filled with water.
6. If flow meters, valves, filters, and other devices are encountered on the pipeline, they must be removed or temporarily short circuited. Only after the pipeline is flushed can they be reset.
7. After flushing the process pipeline, drain the water from the system completely. When draining, there should be a large top vent to prevent the formation of vacuum and damage to the equipment.
8. Pay attention to antifreeze work during winter flushing. After rinsing, promptly drain the water and use compressed air to dry if necessary.
