What is the difference between a pressure transmitter and a differential pressure transmitter?
Date: 2022-12-22Read: 9

Pressure transmitterIt is a commonly used sensor in industrial production. It is widely used in various industrial automation control environments. Especially prominent in the field of petrochemical pipelines. It is also a commonly used material in the procurement of electrical instruments. China's pressure transmitter technology has also made great progress, but compared with the development level of foreign pressure transmitters, there is still a significant gap in technology for pressure transmitters in China. For example, during use, the internal machinery of domestic pressure transmitters may deform, while foreign pressure transmitters avoid this phenomenon due to advanced technology.

Pressure transmitter

In the field of industrial measurement, pressure transmitters are used for measuring media that belong to relatively special situations, such as fish soup, mud, thin liquids, semi dry mixing machines, asphalt, etc., as well as complex measuring media such as strong acids and alkalis. In practical consumer demand, there are many central demands for measuring the pressure of mud.

The main function of pressure transmitters is to transmit commonly used pressure signals in petroleum and petrochemical industries to electronic devices, and through AD conversion, it is reflected in computer operations. For example, taking water pressure as an example, the pressure signal generated by water pressure is transmitted to electronic devices, generating corresponding current (currently, most transmitters have a current of 4-20mA). Through corresponding algorithm formulas, the converted current of the pressure transmitter is also increased by the increase of the pressure signal generated by the pressure.

Measurement method of pressure transmitter:

① The saturated salt method in static methods is a common and simple method for humidity measurement. However, the saturated salt method requires strict equilibrium between liquid and gas phases, and has high requirements for stable environmental temperature. It takes a long time to balance when used, and even longer for low humidity points. Especially when there is a large difference between indoor humidity and the humidity inside the bottle, it takes 6-8 hours to balance each time it is opened.

② The dew point method is a direct result of thermodynamics that measures the temperature at which humid air reaches saturation, with high accuracy and a wide measurement range. The precision dew point meter used for measurement can achieve an accuracy of ± 0.2 ℃ or even higher. However, cold mirror dew point meters based on modern photoelectric principles are expensive and often used in conjunction with standard humidity generators.

③ The dual pressure method and dual temperature method are based on the thermodynamic principles of P, V, and T equilibrium, with longer equilibrium times. The split flow method is based on precise mixing of absolute moisture and absolute dry air. Due to the use of modern measurement and control methods, these devices can be made quite precise. However, due to their complexity, high cost, and time-consuming operation, they are mainly used as standard measuring devices, with measurement accuracy of over ± 2% RH.

④ The dry wet bulb method is a moisture measurement method invented in the 18th century. Long history and widespread use. The dry wet bulb method is an indirect method that converts humidity values using the dry wet bulb equation, which is conditional: the wind speed near the wet bulb must be above 2.5m/s. The commonly used dry wet bulb thermometer simplifies this condition, so its accuracy is only 5-7% RH, and the dry wet bulb does not belong to the static method. Do not simply think that improving the measurement accuracy of two thermometers is equivalent to improving the measurement accuracy of the hygrometer.

⑤ The electronic humidity sensor method, electronic humidity sensor products, and humidity measurement belong to the industry that emerged in the 1990s. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the research and development of humidity sensors both domestically and internationally. Humidity sensors are rapidly developing from simple humidity sensors to integrated, intelligent, and multi parameter detection, creating favorable conditions for the development of a new generation of humidity measurement and control systems and raising humidity measurement technology to a new level.

Differential pressure transmitter

Pressure transmitter andDifferential pressure transmitterWhat's the difference?

A pressure transmitter converts the actual pressure value into a standardized electrical signal (such as 0-10VDC) for output, while a differential pressure transmitter compares the pressure difference between two pressure values and converts this difference into a standardized signal output (in practice, subtraction is done and the difference is output). The differential pressure transmitter has two interfaces, mainly for measuring the differential pressure between two ports, while the pressure transmitter has only one interface for measuring gauge pressure or absolute pressure. Parameters to be provided: range, comprehensive accuracy, output voltage, power supply voltage, operating temperature, threaded connection signal output interface, etc. What are the differences between pressure transmitter, differential pressure transmitter, and micro differential pressure transmitter? Pressure transmitters are used to measure a single pressure and can be divided into two categories: absolute pressure and gauge pressure; Differential pressure transmitter measures the difference between two pressures, which may be negative or positive; Micro differential pressure transmitters generally measure differential pressure values below 1KPa.

A pressure transmitter is a device that converts the pressure of a gas or liquid into a usable electrical signal. Pressure transmitters can be divided into two-wire, three wire, and four wire systems according to their wiring methods. The customer should see a four wire pressure transmitter. Two power cables and two signal cables. The power supply is connected to 24V DC power. A simple detection method is to use an ammeter or voltmeter and connect it to both ends of the signal line. After the power is connected, the ammeter will have a current of 4ma or the voltmeter will have a voltage of 0V or 1V. Nowadays, transmitters generally have four wiring terminals, two of which are wired and the other two do not need to be wired. The DC24V power line of the transmitter is also a 4-20mA signal feedback line, which means that your secondary meter or DAS (data acquisition system) AI point needs to have DC24V output.

For pressure transmitters, there are corresponding overload protections for the pressure range, and the level of overload protection technology determines their price. Overload protection, as a safety factor, cannot be ignored for different types of pressure transmitters. Generally, the range given by designers in the purchase data is only a relative reference value, and the actual situation has not been fully consideredExceeding the range also occurs from time to time. From the perspective of economy and reducing losses, reasonable overload protection is crucial. Overload protection may also have different designs depending on the type of pressure transmitter.
