Answer to several technical questions of cable fault tester in testing
1. The measurement of wave velocity is carried out according to the following steps:
1) Connect a known length of the tested cable (assuming 500m) to the output port of the instrument to trigger the working mode to be set to the "pulse" method. Change the measurement range to the 636m range, and when there should be the echo pulse of the tested cable on this screen.
2) Press the '?' key to stop the active cursor at the starting point of the echo trough.
3) Change the wave speed according to the method of "6, 3, 5)", so that the fault distance is displayed as 500m, and the displayed wave speed is the wave speed of the tested cable. When testing cables, this propagation speed can be pre-set.
2. Waveform comparison method:
The waveform comparison method is a special method of pulse method. The operation steps are to find a good pair of wires in the obstacle cable, first test the waveform using the pulse method, and then store the waveform according to the stored operation steps. Then connect the obstacle line to the testing port of the instrument and measure the obstacle waveform. Follow the steps to retrieve the waveform of a good line pair. The display screen shows both the obstacle line waveform and the good line waveform on the same screen. By comparing the differences between the two, the fault can be determined. As shown in the figure.

3. Charging
1) In order to keep track of the working time that the instrument battery can sustain at any time and facilitate outdoor use, when the battery above the instrument screen is dead and cannot maintain normal operation, the screen will display a prompt "Discharging, please wait..." After the discharge work is completed, an automatic protective shutdown will be executed to prevent the battery from being over discharged and damaged
