ybzhanCorporate NewsApplication of Ultrasonic Level Gauge in Scenarios
Ultrasonic level gauge relies onNon-contact measurementEasy installation and maintenanceAdapt to multiple mediaSuch characteristics have wide applications in various fields such as industry, municipal administration, and agriculture. The following are typical application scenario classifications and specific explanations:

1、 Water treatment industry

Water treatment is the core application area of ultrasonic level gauges, especially suitable for monitoring the liquid level of various water tanks and tanks
  • waterworksUsed for liquid level monitoring of sedimentation tanks, clean water tanks, filtration tanks, dosing tanks, etc., in conjunction with an automatic control system to achieve automatic adjustment of inlet and outlet water, stabilizing the water treatment process.

  • sewage treatment plantSuitable for grid wells, regulating tanks, aeration tanks, sludge concentration tanks, etc., it can withstand impurities and corrosive substances in sewage (corrosion-resistant probes should be selected), avoiding the problem of clogging of contact level gauges.

  • Municipal drainageMonitor rainwater wells, sewage lift pump stations, and sewer water levels to prevent water accumulation from overflowing, and link the start and stop of water pumps.

2、 Industrial storage tanks and containers

In industrial production, it is used for level monitoring of various liquid storage tanks, especially in scenarios where contact measurement is not suitable:
  • Ordinary liquid storage tankReal time monitoring of liquid levels in oil tanks, water tanks, acid and alkali storage tanks (with acid and alkali resistant probes such as polytetrafluoroethylene), coolant tanks, etc. to ensure the supply of production materials or prevent overflow.

  • High viscosity/dirty mediumFor example, ink tanks, paint tanks, mud tanks, etc., the non-contact characteristics can prevent the probe from being attached or blocked by viscous substances (contact level gauges such as floating balls and immersion type are prone to failure in such scenarios).

  • Food/Pharmaceutical IndustryUsed for food raw material storage tanks (such as syrup, edible oil), pharmaceutical water tanks, etc., meeting hygiene requirements (probes can be made of food grade materials to avoid medium contamination).

3、 Agriculture and Water Conservancy

  • agricultural irrigationMonitoring the water level of reservoirs and irrigation channels, combined with an automatic control system to achieve on-demand water supply and save water resources.

  • hydraulic engineeringUsed for liquid level measurement in reservoirs, rivers, and gate wells, assisting hydrological monitoring and flood control scheduling (models with high outdoor protection levels, such as IP67, should be selected).

4、 Other special scenarios

  • environmental monitoringFor example, liquid level monitoring of garbage leachate tanks and waste liquid storage tanks to prevent pollutant leakage.

  • Ships and OceansUsed for liquid level measurement of cabin water tanks and ballast tanks (considering ship shaking, models with anti-interference algorithms can be selected).

  • Laboratory and Small EquipmentThe liquid level monitoring of small reaction vessels and reagent bottles has better cost-effectiveness than other measurement methods when accuracy requirements are not high.

Not applicable scenario description

Although widely used, ultrasonic level gauges also have limitations and are not recommended for the following scenarios:
  • Vacuum environment (ultrasonic waves cannot propagate);

  • High pressure, high temperature steam environment (severe sound wave attenuation, large measurement error);

  • The liquid level fluctuates violently (such as the container with strong agitation) or there are a lot of foam and suspended particles (the signal reflection is unstable).

In actual selection, it is necessary to consider the characteristics of the working conditions and, if necessary, use auxiliary devices (such as waveguide) to reduce interference.
