The liquid glass rotor flowmeter is a variable area flowmeter, which is mainly composed of a vertical glass cone tube that expands from bottom to top and a float that can move up and down with the flow rate. Because there is a certain functional relationship between the flow rate flowing through the flowmeter and the rising height of the float (i.e. the flow area of the flowmeter), the height position of the float can be used as a flow measurement indication. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for measuring the flow rate of single-phase non pulsating fluids (liquids or gases). Widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, light industry, scientific research and other departments.
Maintenance points for liquid glass rotor flowmeter:
Before installing the flowmeter, it is necessary to clean the welding slag and debris inside the pipeline.
2. The flowmeter must be installed perpendicular to the ground, and its inclination should not exceed 2 °. Otherwise, it will affect the measurement accuracy.
If the measured medium is dirty or contains magnetic particles, a filter or magnetic filter should be installed upstream of the flowmeter.
To ensure the measurement accuracy of the rotor flowmeter, a straight pipe section of no less than 10DN should be added at the inlet end of the flowmeter, and a straight pipe section of no less than 5DN should be added at the outlet end. The regulating control valve must be installed downstream of the flowmeter during measurement.
5. The installation of the flow meter should be able to appropriately support the vibration of the pipeline or reduce the axial load of the flow meter, otherwise additional support for the fixed flow meter should be added.
If the measured medium is a large pulsating flow or two-phase flow, a buffer should be installed upstream of the flowmeter to eliminate or reduce pulsation, ensuring that the flow of the medium is single-phase stable. At the same time, it is recommended to use a damping type flowmeter.
When the flowmeter is used for gas measurement, it should be ensured that the working pressure inside the pipeline is not less than 5 times the pressure loss of the flowmeter, so that the flowmeter can operate stably and normally.
Before using the electric remote transmission and flow meter with alarm limit switch, open the instrument cover and connect the wires correctly according to the wiring diagram. For alarm type limit switches, users can set the limit alarm position as needed, tighten the screw, and use it after restoration.
For the convenience of maintenance and repair of flow meters, cleaning of magnetic filters, and regular maintenance of user pipelines, it is recommended to use bypass pipelines.
10. If the rotor flowmeter is turned on, due to the lack of pressure in the pipeline or the system not reaching the working pressure for normal instrument use, the control valve must be slowly opened until the system is normal before the instrument can be used. Otherwise, it is easy to cause pointer jumping or sudden rotor impact and damage.
11. According to the warning sign on the instrument indicator, remove the blocking component that prevents rotor vibration during transportation, restore it, and then use the instrument again.
When using, if the density of the measured fluid is different from that of water, or if the parameters and working conditions of the measured gas are different from those specified by the manufacturer, the reading of the flowmeter should be converted.
