On the morning of August 12, 2023, the 2nd Academic Symposium on Design and Research Progress of Offshore Deepwater Bridge and Tunnel Engineering was grandly opened in Chengdu. This conference is jointly initiated by Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Dalian University of Technology, Central South University, Southeast University and other universities. It is hosted by the School of Civil Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, and includes the Department of Bridge Engineering and the National Key Laboratory of Bridge Intelligence and Green ConstructionExtreme, EndOrganized by the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Construction and Maintenance of Environmental Geotechnical and Tunnel Engineering, Deepwater Large span Bridge Research Center, and Mao Yisheng Bridge Research Institute, and co organized by Zhejiang Construction Industry Technology Innovation Association, Sichuan University, Hohai University, Fuzhou University and other units. The conference system showcases and summarizes the design and research progress of offshore deepwater bridge and tunnel foundation engineering, exchanges and discusses the latest achievements and research progress in the analysis theory and methods, disaster mechanisms, structural life cycle performance prediction, risk analysis, monitoring and control, and intelligent construction of offshore deepwater bridge and tunnel engineering.
