In the industrial production process, temperature is one of the important parameters that need to be measured and controlled, and thermocouples have become a must-have for our industrial production, with extremely wide applications. Therefore, we need to learn how to identify good rings for thermocouples based on general conditions,
Shanghai Jiuding Technology Co., LtdTo guide:
1. Visually observe whether the protective tube has corrosion, penetration, leakage, etc.
2. Use a multimeter to measure conductivity. The resistance of the assembled thermocouple is generally not greater than 2 ohms, and the resistance of the network cable is generally not greater than 50 ohms. Generally, if it is greater than 1K, it can be determined that the thermocouple has been damaged.
3. Using a multimeter to measure the resistance value, a resistance exceeding 100K is not good.
4. Measure with a multimeter ohmmeter, adjust the resistance, connect both ends, and burn with a lighter. If the pointer of the multimeter noticeably increases or decreases, it indicates that it should be good. If the pointer doesn't move, it means it's broken.
5. Measure the voltage at both ends within millivolts using a multimeter. If there is no voltage, it will be broken.
6. Remove the thermocouple from the input end of the instrument thermocouple, and then short-circuit the input end of the instrument thermocouple with any wire. When the power is turned on and the digital display on the top of the instrument shows around room temperature, it indicates that the internal wiring of the thermocouple is open and should be replaced with a thermocouple of the same model. If it is still in the above state, it indicates that the input terminal of the instrument was damaged during transportation and the instrument should be replaced.
7. Remove the thermocouple of the faulty instrument mentioned above and replace it with a thermocouple connected to a similar calibration instrument that is operating normally next to it. After power on, when the digital display on the faulty instrument shows the temperature of the heating element, it indicates that the thermocouple wiring is open and needs to be replaced with a thermocouple of the same model.
8. Remove the faulty thermocouple from the instrument, measure the ohm (R) * 1 with a multimeter, and measure the two ends of the thermocouple with the two stems of the multimeter. If the resistance value displayed on the multimeter is high, it indicates an open circuit in the internal connection of the thermocouple. Replace the thermocouple with the same type. Otherwise, if there is a certain resistance value, it indicates that there is a problem with the input terminal of the instrument and the instrument should be replaced.
9. Connect the wires correctly according to the instrument wiring diagram. If the digital display on the instrument shows a negative value after power on, it indicates that the thermocouple connected to the "+" and "-" on the instrument is connected incorrectly. Just change it again.
