On site malfunction:
Sewage flowmeterUnable to monitor traffic, remote wireless transmission data error.
Reason: Upon opening several sewer manhole covers on site, it was discovered that there was an installation issue: the water level did not submerge the sensor of the ultrasonic Doppler flowmeter, so the flow rate could not be measured, resulting in a flow rate of 0.
Precautions
Sensors should be installed as close to the bottom of the channel as possible. If there is a lot of sediment, silt, water grass, or stones rolling at the bottom of the channel, the installation position can be raised to avoid the probe being covered by sediment and water grass, or impacted by stones.
The sewer Doppler flowmeter should be installed in a place where the water flow is stable. In areas where the water flow is not stable, it is mostly turbulent. The measured flow velocity under turbulent conditions is fluctuating and unstable, and the error can be significant. The water level of the Doppler flowmeter should be 15-20 centimeters higher than the equipment.
