The composite salt spray test instrument adopts a microprocessor controlled test box to automatically complete these testing steps, reducing the uncertainty of the test.
1Composite salt spray test instrumentProduct Usage
The purpose of cyclic corrosion testing is to reproduce the types of corrosion in outdoor corrosive environments. The test exposes the sample to a series of cyclic environments under different conditions. Simple exposure cycles, such as the Prohesion test, involve exposing the sample to a cycle consisting of salt spray and drying conditions. More complex automotive testing methods require not only salt spray and dry cycles, but also wet and static cycles. Initially, these testing cycles were completed manually, with laboratory operators moving the samples from the salt spray box to the wet test box, and then to a drying or static device.
Cyclic corrosion testing is a more realistic salt spray test than traditional steady-state exposure. Because actual outdoor exposure typically involves both dry and wet environments, simulating these natural, periodic conditions is only meaningful for laboratory accelerated testing. Research has shown that after cyclic corrosion testing, the relative corrosion rate, structure, morphology, and outdoor corrosion results of the samples are very similar. Therefore, cyclic corrosion testing is closer to real outdoor exposure than traditional salt spray methods. They can effectively evaluate many corrosion mechanisms, such as general corrosion, electrochemical corrosion, and crevice corrosion.
